PSA time for September and October!
As you may know, nearly every videogame release for the rest of the year is desperately trying to avoid Grand Theft Auto VI in November by releasing over the next eight weeks.
I've got as much of the upcoming games that I think will sell ordered as I can (a lot of Wolverine, between 2-10 copies of other things), but with the rapid release schedule AND 30th Anniversary Pokemon releasing AND two different Magic sets releasing AND keeping up with paying for trades and everything else that goes into keeping a game store running, there will likely be no restocks on any of these games, at least not in the release windows. So if we post that we received a game you want, please contact us asap to pay over the phone or via PayPal or whatever needs to happen, because once a game is gone, it's going to be on to the next thing.
Within that, a few notes.
We are very likely going to continue to not receive Nintendo-produced Switch 2 titles upon release, at least until I'm told otherwise. Nintendo doesn't want small stores price matching digital prices like Amazon and Walmart have been, so they're just not shipping them to us at all. We may be able to get copies later like we did with Star Fox and Splatoon, but there's no guarantee.
People have made it very clear over the past year that they're not interested in most Switch 2 games that come on Game Key Cards that don't actually have the game on them, just a proof of purchase. With that in mind, we're going to be getting 2-3 copies tops of these releases. Again, there's just too much stuff releasing to watch games sit unsold.
We will not be receiving or selling Grand Theft Auto VI, as "physical" copies will only have a digital code in a box, there's no disc. And if there's no disc, there's no incentive for us to order any and have to deal with any problems that may arise from codes that don't work or any other potential problem with "code in a box" releases. If it releases on disc at a later date, we'll likely get some then, but with Sony ditching discs in 16 months, my expectations aren't high.
And lastly, as it happens every year, we've been getting completely bombed with trades as summer draws to a close. You see our posts, we've been getting a lot of great stuff! We love seeing all of the NES, SNES, and N64 cartridges, Pokemon games, Gamecube games, and so on. Unfortunately, we've also been seeing a LOT of literal trash brought in that we don't post. No matter how much we beg and plead on here and in messages to people to clean their trades and make sure they work, we're seeing box after box of unsellable broken consoles, destroyed controllers and discs, bug filled game cases, or promises of systems being "impeccable" and then they arrive covered in stickers and filth. I truly hate telling people "no", but when the store's funds are already pulled in 100 different directions as it is, we're going to get pickier about what we're paying cash for going into the holidays. Please please please clean and test your trades if at all possible, have the right games in the right cases, understand that if it's broken we don't want it, and be ready for deductions if things are missing or if we'll have to spend the next hour cleaning your trade.
That's it for now. Thank you as always for reading.
