This week, Monsters Unreeled will be showing the horror classic that revolutionized werewolf movies — An American Werewolf in London!

This movie is a must-watch for horror fans, but if you’ve somehow never seen it, this is the perfect excuse to finally experience it the way it was meant to be seen: on VHS, with a room full of fellow horror weirdos. If you've seen it, you'll know it's a blast to watch with a group.

Directed by John Landis, the same guy behind The Blues Brothers, Animal House, Trading Places, and Coming to America, An American Werewolf in London showed just how far a werewolf movie could go. Landis brought his signature mix of dark comedy and absurdity into the horror genre, while special effects legend Rick Baker created some of the most incredible practical creature effects ever put to film.

And that transformation scene? Still absolutely legendary and sticks with you.

Released in 1981, An American Werewolf in London helped redefine the modern werewolf movie, balancing genuinely creepy horror with some seriously twisted humor. It’s bloody, hilarious, bizarre, and still holds up more than 40 years later.

So come hang out with Monsters Unreeled for a night of classic horror, VHS nostalgia, and one very unfortunate trip through the English countryside.

We are VERY excited to announce our next market, and this one will be a first for us --------DEVIL’S NIGHT COSTUME PARTY-------- at Right Brain Brewery!!

We’re popping up Northern Michigan’s Unofficial Favorite Geek Market at our favorite spot for brews and (pin)balls, but this time we’re throwing a bash to celebrate the favoritest of spooky seasons!

As always, previous vendors are getting the first crack at the spots, and folks really dug our setup last time where we limited vendor overlap. We’ll be doing the same thing here: keeping the vendor mix curated so you don’t end up with a dozen booths selling the exact same stuff.

We’ll be set up entirely in the back event space for this event!

Keep your eyeballs glued to your email later today! You’ll get the first chance to claim your spots, so CHECK YOUR JUNK/SPAM FOLDER if you don’t see us. Surely we wouldn’t let your invitation get lost in the graveyard… would we? 💀

We’re all about bringing together folks who are actually making, collecting, curating, creating, or doing something cool with their wares.

And just like that, another Geek Trader Market is in the books!
What a great day and another awesome market under our belts. One thing we heard over and over was how much everyone enjoyed the more balanced mix of vendors this time around instead of having one category dominate the market, so it's great to hear that landed!

A huge thank you to De Food Truck for keeping our geeky gullets full all day!

Now for the fun part... keep your peepers peeled for October! We'll be back at Right Brain Brewery for our Halloween-themed Geek Trader Market, and trust us, we've got some spooky ideas brewing.

It's our favorite time of year, so we're already cooking up some fun surprises.

To keep the market fresh and varied, we're organizing vendors by category this time around so we don't end up with too much of any one thing.

Available Spots:

6 Collector Vendor Spaces
Perfect for vendors selling retro toys, action figures, comics, manga, VHS, vintage video games, trading cards, Hot Wheels, LEGO, pop culture collectibles, records, and other curated collections.

SOLD OUT Artist & Maker Spaces
For original artists, illustrators, handmade crafts, custom apparel, jewelry, pottery, woodworking, original 3D designs, and other unique handmade creations.

6 Hobby & Gaming Spaces
Tabletop games, board games, RPG books, D&D accessories, Warhammer, miniatures, terrain, paints, dice, hobby supplies, cosplay props, indie video games, and other gaming-related products.

A few reminders before applying:

❌ No AI-generated artwork or AI-produced products.
❌ No TEMU, Alibaba, or other mass-import resale products.
❌ No mass-produced 3D prints from purchased files. We love seeing 3D printing at the market, but we're looking for original designs or genuinely creative, value-added work, not vendors simply printing someone else's files in bulk.

Our goal is to keep Geek Trader Market full of unique vendors, curated collections, and original creators so there's always something new and exciting to discover.

Community has always been at the heart of what we do, so we're teaming up with Oakwood Proper Burgers for a special Oakwood After Dark the weekend before Geek Trader Market!

Join us for Killer Klowns from Outer Space, the gloriously goofy cult horror classic that's packed with unforgettable practical effects, absurd laughs, and some of the most iconic killer clowns ever put on film. If you've never seen it, this is the perfect way to experience it: outdoors with a crowd that's ready to cheer, laugh, and quote along.

Oakwood will also have themed food and drink specials available from their outdoor grill and bar, making it the perfect summer movie night. Bring a chair, bring some friends, and come geek out over corny 80s horror!

Hey folks! It's that time again, we're heading back outside for another summer Geek Trader Market!

We've sent emails to returning vendors, so be sure to check your inbox, spam, and junk folders.

A few vendor updates:
To keep the market unique and community-focused, we do not allow AI-generated artwork, Temu or mass-import resale products, or bulk-purchased/unoriginal 3D printed items. Independent 3D print creators are absolutely welcome! We just want to showcase original designs and personally produced work, not files purchased online and printed hundreds of times. If you've sold these types of items with us before, we appreciate your understanding as we continue to refine our curation standards and keep the market focused on original creators.

Above all, Geek Trader Market exists to build community. As we continue to grow, all vendors will be asked to review and agree to our GTM Vendor Policy during registration.

Our goal has always been to celebrate creativity, support original creators, and keep cool old toys, games, collectibles, and pop-culture treasures out of landfills and into the hands of people who will appreciate them.

If you've vended with us before, keep an eye on your email! We don't maintain a public vendor mailing list or waitlist; returning vendors receive early access based on seniority. Any remaining spots will open to the public on July 2nd, so if you're a returning vendor, please check your email before then!

So, lots of folks know we had a monster movie club launch out of the market, so locals who love old classic 80's - 90s can meet once a month, grab food, drinks, and to enjoy the shared experience of enjoying old goofy movies together...

No bulk — we want you getting the most for your cards so you can spend more at the con (and we won't have the time scan through all that!) Please pre-scan some of your cards to make sure they hold that value prior to bringing them.

We'll also be giving bonus store credit to those who want to spend the money at our shop.
