I love repairing young players' horns and watching their eyes light up when they discover how easy it can be when their equipment is right.

Same is true for teaching. The better my teaching and repairing gets, the better my players/clients get. As they progress they bring out my desire to progress. We survive off each other in a mutual benefit of artistic application of and dedication to, the craft.

Some have moved on to become first class players. It is then that I must work harder to help them progress even further. To find new ways of doing things that make an instrument become an extension of the players soul. This is my ultimate goal.

Thank you, dedicated student. Thank you. You give me purpose.

Pisoni pro pads with PM Woodwind resonators (solid domed brass with screw back) and blued steel needle springs.

Patrick Booth stopped in today to get acquainted with The Sax Clinic and myself and decided he must have a Selmer Super Action 80II alto! He and I agree that this particular horn is a Super Action (SBA) reborn into modern key work.

A Traverse City native, Patrick teaches music and saxophone courses at Northern Michigan University and Michigan Tech…and is in town for his performance at The Alluvion tomorrow evening, Saturday August 22!
