I want to let you know we were able to send a signed book called behind blue curtains by lizzy hershbuger to a young lady we need to keep in our prayers and a Visa card to help her a little ! P.s if you have not read this book .. get a copy .. it's very good .. you can get it on Amazon or eBay ...

Official Event Rules & Participation Agreement

Event Overview

Participants will take part in a fun Father’s Day makeover contest where children style their dads, grandpas, uncles, or other father figures using thrifted accessories and clothing items provided during the event.

One Grand Prize Winner will be selected based on customer voting following the event.

Participation Rules

* Each makeover team will receive 5 minutes to shop the store for outfits and accessories.
* Clothing items must be worn over the participant’s existing clothing at all times.
* No changing rooms or removal of existing clothing is permitted during the contest.
* Contest outfits and accessories are for event use only and may not be kept unless purchased separately.
* Participants must follow all store rules and respect store merchandise and property.
* No running, roughhousing, climbing, or unsafe behavior inside the store.
* Makeup and accessories must be applied safely and respectfully.
* Store staff reserve the right to remove inappropriate items/outfits from participation.

Registration & Payments

* Space is limited to 10 makeover teams.
* Full payment is required to reserve participation spots.
* Registration fees are non-refundable unless the event is canceled by the host.
* $10 per participating father figure.
* $2 per participating child stylist.

Guests & Photography

* One additional adult guest per makeover team may attend for photography purposes only.
* Guests must remain clear of participant pathways and store operations.
* Flash photography should not interfere with other participants.

Voting & Grand Prize

* Contestant photos will be displayed in-store following the event for customer voting.
* Voting will remain open for one week following the contest.
* One Grand Prize Winner will be selected based on total customer votes.
* The host reserves the right to remove fraudulent, inappropriate, or manipulated votes.

Photo & Media Release

By participating in this event, participants acknowledge and agree that photos and videos may be taken during the contest.

Signed participation forms grant permission for:

* Event photography
* Social media posting
* Promotional use
* Facebook posting
* Advertising future events
* In-store display of contestant photos

Photos and videos may be used by Weeping Willow Thrift without additional compensation or approval.

All participating adults must sign a media/photo release form.

A parent or legal guardian must sign on behalf of all participating minors before participation is allowed.

* Participants join voluntarily and assume responsibility for their own participation.
* Parents/legal guardians are responsible for supervising participating children.
* The host/store is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings.
* The host/store reserves the right to refuse participation or remove anyone behaving in a disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate manner.
* The event is intended to remain family friendly and respectful at all times.

We’re incredibly grateful for every customer who walks through our doors. Your support keeps our mission alive.
Sometimes we get questions about pricing, so we wanted to share a little about what goes into our store:
What you see: $1.25 adult clothing | $0.99 kids’ clothing
What goes into it: Hours of unpaid time sorting, cleaning, steaming, and pricing every donation by hand.
What we pay: Rent, utilities, credit card fees, security, supplies, and more.
Where it goes: A portion of every sale supports our 501c3 nonprofit.
For comparison, similar items at thrift stores in KC run $15-$20. We intentionally price far below value to serve our community. And if someone is truly in need, we will always do our best to work with them.
We’re not a big chain - we’re a small, local store doing our best to help others while keeping the lights on. Most weeks, we’re fortunate to clear just a little after expenses.
