The Friends have been promoting and supporting the Troy Public Library for over 50 years! The Friends Shop on the first floor of the Library is open as staffed.

The Book Shop sells a wide variety of donated items in very good to excellent condition including books for adults and children, paperbacks, magazines, movies, music, collectors books, puzzles and games. Book Shop Hours Saturdays 10-1PM and Sundays 1-4PM

This weekend, we’re celebrating the legends! 🎶 🎤 Stop by to browse our special collection of books featuring iconic musicians—from Cher 👩🏻 and Dolly Parton 👱🏻‍♀️ to The Rolling Stones 👄👅 and The Beatles 🇬🇧.
We’re also shining a light on the rich history of our own Motown Detroit, with fantastic titles that capture its soul and legacy.

Also, Father’s Day is only two days out!
If you’re still looking for a little something for the #1 Dad in your life 🏆, check out our novelty section and add a card from our nice card collection!

As always, our shelves are fully stocked and refreshed every single week. You’ll find fiction, non-fiction, children’s and adult books 📚, CDs 💿, DVDs 📀, magazines 📕, puzzles 🧩, and board games ♟️🎲 —something for every reader, listener, and puzzler.

Rev your engines, Troy — the Woodward Dream Cruise is just two months out. 🏁
In honor of this beloved tradition, we’re showcasing a special selection of books all about Ford, its groundbreaking history, and the legacy that shaped the Motor City.

Pride Month is still going strong 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
Have a look at our center table and browse our wide selection of LGTBQ+ books, from non-fiction memoirs to a wide range of fiction and the most romantic love stories 👩‍❤️‍👩🩷👨‍❤️‍👨

Our other shelves are always brimming with non-fiction and fiction from all genres and for all age groups, along with DVDs 📀, CDs 💿, Magazines 📕, Puzzles 🧩 and Board Games 🎲 . Most for under $1!

Our bookshop is located on the lower level of tTroy Public Libraryary and open Saturday from 10am to 1pm and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm.

We had an amazing time at this year’s Summer Kickoff! 🌤️🏖️
The rain may have cut things short, but we still had a blast thanks to our wonderful Library Staff and all the families who came out. We gave away hundreds of free books 📚 and the kids enjoyed every minute of the fun before the weather rolled in 🌧️

A special thank you to the Troy Public Library for organizing this amazing event every year and a big shout out to our Teen Volunteers who are always ready to jump in wherever they are needed! ❤️
We rewarded their help throughout the year with a big Pizza Lunch on Saturday 🍕 Because they are the Best and they absolutely deserve it! ❤️❤️❤️

The warmer weather is finally here, and we know you feel it too — that first spark of sunshine ☀️, the hint of summer in the air 🏖️, the urge to wander somewhere warm and wonderful.

With Memorial Day coming up next week, we invite you to a journey back to its origins and explore the history, art, and pivotal battles of the American Civil War ⚔️
Memorial Day’s origins run deep—first observed on May 30, 1868, as Decoration Day, it honored Union soldiers who lost their lives in the Civil War. Over time, it became recognized nationwide and evolved into the Memorial Day we observe today: a solemn tribute to all U.S. military members who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Beyond our Center Table Display, our shop offers a wide selection of fiction and nonfiction books, along with CDs, DVDs, puzzles, and games. If you’re inspired to dig deeper into the past, be sure to browse our History section as well.

Stop by this weekend to discover stories of heroism, sacrifice, and the enduring impact of history—and join us in honoring those who served.

Our bookshop is located in the basement of the Troy Public Library and is open Sat 10–1 and Sun 1–4. Please note that both the Library and our bookshop will be closed for Memorial Day weekend from Sat 5/23 through Mon 5/25.

The City of Troy will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Plaza in front of Troy City Hall (500 W. Big Beaver Road). All are invited to take a moment to honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives for our country 🇺🇸
