Posting a new, definitely not AI post each week, until we raise enough money to hire a real live person who isn't me to do marketing. Or until we get volunteers to do it.
Let's talk about Hestia's Hearth and Home Thrift. It's our thrift store - online for now, but working on a brick&mortar space, because we need places like thrift stores where we can know our money isn't going to run charities that wouldn't help our community members. It keeps things out of landfills, helps people save money, and will fund a physical space for our organization and our community, along with providing for other charity work. We have winter coats, lunch boxes, purses, candle holders, games, and a ton of other stuff either listed on the site or in bins in my living room waiting for me to get with the program and get them listed. Look, I know that a lot of corners of the internet are really anti-AI right now - particularly the Pagan community, where people are boycotting events and deplatforming presenters. I get it (though I wish there was more nuance in the discussions). Thing is, though, having seen the state of our community's support for any sort of business or organization, I'm not actually convinced that threatening withdrawl of support makes any difference, because most people aren't supporting their local businesses and organizations to begin with.
Every week I'm going to put together a new post, that's definitely not AI (this one is my own photos), until we either get enough support to have someone besides me doing it (because I actually can't do everything) or until our reach drops so much that I realize that AI is the only option.
