I did pretty well on Tillery today.
21 keepers caught 39 total. Let them all go.
All on jigs, 20' to 23' deep.
I had phone issues with pictures. I did manage a video.

The problem I see using a sea urchin are the hooks we commonly use.
Here I have a sea urchin applied to a common size 2 jig hook.
The problem in my mind is the length of the shaft. It's too long.

Sometime ago I created what I feel is a better designed hook for Stinger type jigs.
It's a short shanked hook using a size 1 hook.

These are also perfect for use with the Crappie Urchins.
I can make them in the following sizes; 1/32, 1/16, 3/32 and 1/8.
I have a wide variety of colors available.

If you're wondering how those Feel-N-Crappie Jigs perform at different times of the year.
A customer sent me this recent photo. He said the Blue Hornet got the job done on the crappie.
While the Electric Chicken was gobbled up by White Bass.
Looks like a good day to me.

It's apparent my evil ways have irreversibly affected Rodney Williams.
Yesterday our plan was long lining to start our morning. After a few minutes Rodney looked at me and said I can't remember how to do this. At first I thought he was talking about programming the remote control for the trolling motor.
After 1.5 hours with nothing to show but a catfish and a d**k crappie I knew it must be so.🤣🤣🤣
He'll probably have some trolling rods for sale soon!😲
We switched tactics and started fishing with the devil. (LiveScope)
We turned the day around with 22 keepers while catching 60/75 fish.
We also caught some really big white perch which we released.
Rodney had a big day, he also caught the big fish of the day, a 13.5" slab.
We used a combination of Feel-N-Crappie Jigs and Gulp Minnows.
The water was a bit stained where we started. The Fools Gold did the job.

We had a great day at Badin yesterday fishing the Operation North State event.
Ken Frost, Laverne Johnson (Slim) and myself were hammering fish all day.
We ended the day with a little over 100 fish counting the catfish we released.
Slim took home 67 crappie, Ken kept 27 d**ks to use as bait.
There are days I know we are smiled upon by the man upstairs. This one was special sharing it with two fellow veterans.
Thank you Terry Snyder for putting these events together.
Your hard work for disabled veterans is highly appreciated.

Today I broke in a new jig and a new rod and reel.
Thank you Travis Hissim.
Even your dad caught a fish on it as well as that jig.
It was a mix of jigs and minnows today.
One of the two big fish was 1.10
We didn't weigh the other one but it was just as big.

I'm hoping to get a day of fishing in on Badin before the Operation North State event there on Thursday.
We need to know where they're hanging out.

I decided it was time for something new. Although it's really an update to a jig I made some time ago.
With all the clear water we're experiencing it might get the job done.
This is a 1/16. I'll be tying a few 1/32 as well.
