River condition report:
A week near freezing temps. 1-2 inches of rain overnight. 38% containment on the Mosquito Fire creating smoke free skies for the last 3 days. Snow capped mountains in September, not to mention more water in the river due to a more conservative approach by the watermaster this year. Things are shaping up nicely for one of the better falls we've seen in decades, don't miss out!

Hi everyone, the shop just received the tickets for this year's F3T at the Community Arts Center here in Truckee on July 16th. We couldn't be more excited to once again see the rad community of anglers here in the Reno/Tahoe area get together and share fishy stories over a few beverages and some awesome videos. Stop on in and pick up your tickets here at the shop before the show for $20, or grab them at the door for $25. And as always, proceeds will go towards . we look forward to seeing you there!

A huge shout out to for a very unexpected mail day at the shop. We've been following his account for a while now and admiring his incredible blood midge patterns tied using some very innovative techniques for exaggerating the segmentations just like are found on the real bug. Without any solicitation and to a great surprise to us, he sent a dozen of his amazing bugs in the mail from his home in Canada so that we could give them a try on our local waters. These flies are so well tied and unique, we can't wait to fish them! If you don't already, we highly suggest giving his page a follow to get the fly tying juices flowing. Thanks Wes!!

So stoked that decided to stop in the shop today with some extra art for sale! This glass sculpture is named "full moon" and for anyone that's ever done any mousing, you immediately know why! Come on into the shop and check it out before it's gone! $2,700 and this life-size piece of art is yours!

Happy memorial day everyone, and a huge thank you to all that have served our country to make it so we are able to get out and fish as often as I do! We will be open normal hours today, and as a thank you to those that have served we will be offering 20% off to any active or retired military (today only). Cheers! 🤙

We are in spawning season here in the Truckee Tahoe area. This video was taken on the Truckee River today in a very popular fishing access area. Please do you part to in the coming weeks. Anywhere there's rainbow trout there will be spawning fish and it is of the utmost importance that we do our part to give them space and avoid harassing them. Anyone who is unsure what to look for can stop in the shop or give us a call and we will be more than happy to better explain appropriate ethics when fishing this time of year. Thanks for reading!

We would like to take a second to thank every single person that has helped make this business a success. Thank you to those who have made a conscious decision to spend their money locally. Ultimately however, we will not be able to stock everything and supporting small businesses doesn't just mean ours. All benefits got to which is a great non-profit giving underprivileged youth the opportunity to get out and learn the great sport of fly fishing!
