Legend. Icon. Undisputed Queen of Country Music. Wife. Daughter. Sister. Aunt. Friend. Mentor. Philanthropist.
From a humble, two room house, with no running water, in Locust Ridge, Sevier County, Tennessee, rose a tiny powerhouse, a one of a kind, beautiful human being. A barely 5' tall force of nature with a career of songwriting, performing, and giving back to her family, community, and country, that came to span over 60 years.
Dolly's legacy will live on through the ages, as one of kindness, talent, compassion, generosity, and love for one and all. When word spread that we had lost her, much of the world seemed to collectively stop and take pause in shock and disbelief. Not Dolly! She was timeless, seemed unstoppable, and we were so fortunate to have had her for so many decades, she seemed immortal. The truth is, however long we were able to bask in her light, it was never going to be enough. The world was indeed blessed by her existence, and she literally helped millions of people, sharing her gifts and making the world a much sweeter place with her efforts.
To have our humble, family owned Textile Mill be given the great honor of creating and weaving beautiful Tribute blankets to showcase and honor Dolly Parton's life and legacy, is one of the proudest moments of my career here. We have woven gorgeous blankets, celebrating and memorializing thousands of beloved human beings. It is always an honor and a privilege to be part of bringing warmth, beauty and comfort to families in their most challenging times of loss. But to be asked and allowed to weave blankets, depicting the memories of one of the most genuinely decent, extraordinarily good humans to have ever graced this world... that is an honor that will be remembered and cherished forever.
Rest in Peace, Dolly, we are forever grateful for all you've given the world.
One of our favorite Dolly Quotes = “If you see someone without a smile today, give ‘em yours.”
