Happy Saturday, everyone!
My solo exhibit, Retablo Sonorense, opens on September 11th at the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum! This multimedia installation, which expands through 10 years of work, combines works in glass, embroidered drawings, paintings, and handmade, embroidered shoes and presents them within reimagined forms of the retablo—a powerful colonial tool of indoctrination—to tell the contemporary immigrant story through visual art. The public reception is from 7:00-10:00pm on September 11th. I hope to see you there!
