This is what is for free for Monday June 1
The 05 Market has two sides - our FREE FOOD is on one side and on the other is food we SELL AT A DISCOUNT.
What is the difference?
FREE SIDE: Each week we receive donated fresh vegetables, fruit, milk products and meat from local grocery stores. We GIVE THIS DONATED FOOD AWAY to all who come to the 05 Market and shop our free section. It varies each week depending upon our donations - some weeks we have an abundance of food, and other weeks there is less. But all donated food is given away. None is ever sold.
PAID SIDE: We purchase freight loads of overstocked, short-coded, discontinued, and surplus name-brand foods at a discount. We are then able to offer these products at a reduced price for our shoppers. Products are up to 50% off the price you would find these items in a retail grocery store. Every item sold in the 05 Market was purchased by us for resale. We NEVER SELL any of our donated food!
Like all discount grocery stores, the 05 Market sells short-coded and sometimes out-of-code products. The date posted on the product is not a “must throw away by” date. In many cases you would never be able to tell the difference in a product that is past the "best by" date. America’s food waste problem is a serious issue. We are doing our best to help solve this problem and help those trying to stretch their grocery budgets find alternatives to high grocery prices!
GAP's 05 Market is open to anyone - no ID, proof of income, or special qualifications required. We take cash, credit/debit, or EBT.
