Join us this Thursday, October 1st, when Sky Gallery stays open late to highlight two of our 100+ Resident Artists with an opening reception and featured space at the front of the store. Please join us at Sky Gallery Presents - Bayliegh Fields and Belinda Ball to see the works and meet Belinda Ball.

Artist bio: Belinda was born and raised in Tulsa. She was a graduate of Edison High School class of 1978. Upon graduation she attended Arizona State University, Oklahoma State University and the University Of Tulsa. She graduated from TU with a Bachelor Of Fine Arts and minor in Commercial Art and Advertising. As a child she grew up going to Philbrook where her love of art flourished. After graduating TU, she worked in Dallas, Texas at Neiman-Marcus. Working on ads and the ever-famous Christmas Catalog was pivotal, with long hours, photo shoots, which was a once-in-a lifetime experience.
She returned home and worked in the family Rag Business alongside her father Ben Skuy. Belinda met and married Tim Ball a chemist for the Sherwin-Willaims Co. During that time Tim purchased an easel and paints, Belinda had not painted for years but slowly began a transition to full-time artist. Initially painting was slow, but Belinda found her niche in dog portraits. It was during this time Belinda needed a Kidney Transplant. Posting on Facebook she reconnected with her childhood best friend Claudia Bucklin Smith, losing touch after high school. It had been 36 years since they last spoke, Claudia became Belinda’s kidney donor receiving the gift of life. Belinda began painting dog portraits as a fundraiser for the transplant and has kept painting for the love of animals. She has painted a horse, fish, cats and dogs, just to name a few. She continues to paint animals as they bring such joy!

Every First Thursday, Sky Gallery stays open late for an art show opening! Stop by this Thursday, Oct 1 from 5-7 for Sky Gallery Presents - Bayliegh Fields and Belinda Ball to view new works and meet the artists!

Artist bio: Bayliegh Fields is a twenty five year old Cherokee artist from Pryor, Oklahoma. Bayliegh attended Rogers State University, graduating magna cm laude with honors of being the fine art outstanding graduate. Their work tends to showcase a juxtaposition of bright, vibrant colors, reminiscent of childhood, with themes of morbidity, death and identity. Recently, they have been using art to explore her identity in an open ended way so the viewer is put in the position to contemplate their own identity.
