Free boat rides are back at Gathering Place, offering visitors a relaxing, fun, and free way to enjoy the park from the water!

Thanks to our generous sponsors at John Zink, boat rides will be available Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October 26.

Circle Cinema and Magic City Books are delighted to welcome back Michael Wallis for a launch event to celebrate the release of "Route 66, 100th Anniversary Edition: The Mother Road" on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

This afternoon event will take place at Circle Cinema, 10 S Lewis Ave. Parking is available on-site.

Michael Wallis will greet guests and sign books starting at 2:00pm, then at 3:00pm, he'll introduce a special 20th anniversary screening of Pixar's "Cars."

Tickets are not required for the signing, but you will need a ticket for the screening.

"Route 66" and Michael Wallis' other works will be for sale at the event.

After 16 months of renovations, the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame & Museum is ready to reopen its doors!

On Saturday, September 26, the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame will celebrate its Grand Reopening in Muskogee with a FREE day of live music, museum tours, interactive exhibits, food trucks, vendors and more.

The celebration begins at 1 PM, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 PM, and concludes with a hometown performance by Muskogee natives The Swon Brothers.

Southern Living recently spent a long weekend in Tulsa, and they came away with a pretty good sense of what makes this city special. The article has been making the rounds, but I wanted to share it here in case you haven’t seen it yet, including several familiar stops along the Mother Road.

Make Tulsa your next long weekend destination. It has world-class institutions like the Philbrook Museum of Art, a 100-acre riverfront park called Gathering Place, and exceptional restaurants that prove the dining scene is more than just meat and potatoes.

We have some exciting news! 🥳

“Crossroads of America: Oklahoma’s Route 66” will premiere on OETA on Saturday, August 29, at 4 p.m.!

The Oklahoma Historical Society helped produce this documentary, which examines the evolution of Route 66 in Oklahoma, from the hardships of the Dust Bowl era to the era of nostalgic road trips. It explores the highway’s history and future through interviews with historians, interactions with small-business owners, and scenes created using virtual production technology.

We can’t wait for you to see it!
