Yes, it’s true. I do like animals. Since my collection started to develop an animal theme, I decided to lean into it for the fall booth refresh. If you like animals too, come visit the Teak & Ivy booth in aisle 5 at The Hive Vintage Mall. There’s some other stuff in the booth too, including a very cool lighted gold and marble etagere. The entire mall is full of new things!

I’ve had fun finding some vintage vacation wear to add to the suitcase at the Teak & Ivy booth. Today, I just added a Hawaiian dress circa 80s-90s and a shirt circa 70s along with some beaded necklaces. They are in like-new condition!

Well here’s the story behind the shining star of the new Vacation Vibes wall at Teak & Ivy Vintage Boutique.
This is an antique photograph of Niagara Falls taken by photographer George Edward Curtis (1830–1910).
Curtis was a prominent 19th-century photographer based in Niagara Falls, New York.
He typically produced these images as mammoth plate albumen prints, which are large-scale photographs made by placing a glass-plate negative directly onto sensitized paper.
Most of his major Niagara works were published between approximately 1869 and 1883.
His large-format photographs are considered highly collectible.

The second picture shows the stamp on the back of the wood-framed image that identifies this as his work.

VACATION VIBES! 🏝️⛱️🛫🍹🥥🚤 One half of the Teak & Ivy booth is on vacation and the other is still feeling fancy with Hollywood Regency vibes!
Our art collection started to get a getaway theme with destinations like Alaska, Niagara Falls and New Mexico so we decided to go with that since summer is the perfect time for a trip …and a trip to The Hive Antique Mall.

Pretty postcards with such history. One is postmarked 1910, another from the 1939 World’s Fair in New York and another from 1939 from a Ponca City girl who took a trip to Florida where she saw a lot of “strange things.”
