Great news!

THE ASPHALT IS DOWN!!!

We can finally see the light at the end of the construction zone! The road construction in front of our store is coming to a close, and we are SO excited!

It’s been a long, dusty, bumpy road—literally —but the fresh asphalt was laid yesterday so cone removal and striping is next so traffic on Harvard can flow easily.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who kept shopping with us, navigating the construction, and supporting our little antique store through it all. ❤️

Now that the road is smoothing out, it’s the perfect time to come see us, browse the vintage treasures, and enjoy a much smoother trip down Harvard!

We have a vendor work day next Tuesday to turn the mall over for Christmas! New displays, new merchandise, across the mall on Wednesday, October 7

As always our vendors come in regularly everyweek to restock, dont miss out!!

Halloween has arrived at the Teak & Ivy booth in The Hive Antique Mall! Holiday highlights include handmade doily ghosts with vintage button faces, a 1977 owl tapestry printed on burlap and doily spiderwebs with spider brooches!

Are you a black swan?
Here’s a little history I pieced together about the phrase.

Before the 17th century, Europeans believed all swans were white because they had never seen any other color. Finding a black swan in Australia proved that a long-held, absolute assumption could be completely wrong.
Author Nassim Nicholas Taleb popularized a theory that a "black swan event" is a rare, occurrence that nobody saw coming.
So if a person is called a black swan, they are seen as an ultimate outlier. They do not fit traditional molds, break standard patterns of behavior, and often introduce a sudden, dramatic shift or transformation to their environment.

This particular black swan is a 1987 Franklin Mint bisque porcelain sculpture titled "The Australian Black Swan," designed by artist Ronald Van Ruyckevelt. It features a textured black feathered body with a bright red bill and sits on a separate white lacquered oval base.

Love this lamp! We added this colossal (47 inches tall) Hollywood Regency table lamp to the Teak & Ivy booth last night. It is definitely a statement piece if the statement you are looking to make is "WOW!" The metal flame cage is surrounded by strands of crystals. The dual light feature allows you to pick your lighting vibe. Check out the videos to see the flickering flames in action!

I could not be happier that these glamorous gold chairs found the perfect home. The woman who bought them plans to use them for her wedding photos and wedding and then keep them in her home! 🥰🤗 We brought over these very unique chests with brass butterflies and accents to take their place in the booth. They could double as side tables with lots of storage! Love them. I can’t wait to find out what the next chapter is for these lovelies!!! 🦋🦋🦋
