There are very active black bears in the St. Regis Canoe Area! Please be responsible and store your food properly. We are recreating where the bears live, so let's be respectful visitors.

This is the first step of : Plan Ahead and Prepare. Make sure all of your food and garbage will fit inside your bear canister before going on your trip.
EVERYTHING with a scent needs to be in the bear can:
Food (including canned goods), trash, toiletries, bug spray, medications, soap, etc.
Cook before dark and away from your campsite. Do your dishes (not in lakes and streams!) and then store the bear canister away from where you are sleeping. Never burn your trash.
If your hand is not inside the can it should be LOCKED AT ALL TIMES.
Black bears can be startling and if you get frightened and back away from an open bear can, the bear now has all of your food and has been further trained that your camp is a good food source.
Let's be the stewards of this land together. 🐻

This is your one week reminder that our annual River Clean-Up is Sunday, June 21st! Meet at our shop at 10:30am to get a free canoe rental.
It always feels good to clean up our pristine waters while helping the wildlife and habitats stay healthy. If you don't want to paddle the river, you can always walk the road next to Moody Marsh.

Blackflies have been out, and mosquitos and deer flies are following their lead. Don't let them stop you from enjoying a beautiful day on the water!
We recommend packing long sleeves and pants and a head net. Finding a breezy campsite and getting a small fire burning can help too.
We carry an assortment of natural bug repellents and stylish head nets to keep you enjoying the great outdoors.
