On a personal note, Bob is one of the most important figures in my life. He’s on my Mt Rushmore, and maybe stands alone given how much I learned from him. Just being near him is enough for anyone to be better, as a player, and as a person.
I’m very excited to hear these two, and I hope I see you out and about. Here is more on the two of them, as shared by John. ~Mark
Robert Ferrier graduated from Berklee College of Music; he teaches and tells stories in the jazz programs of both UMass Amherst and Holyoke Community College. A freelance guitarist and teacher, Bob has performed with Jon Faddis, Randy Brecker, Yusef Lateef and Peter Erskine; in the Valley he is heard with the O-Tones and Stephen Page.
John Lentz is a jazz vocalist who was mentored by the late Jay Clayton and the late Sheila Jordan. He incorporates spoken word into his musical improvisations. His acclaimed debut album, “how strange the road should be so easy,” can be found on most major platforms.
