How things are going today…. It’s very somber instead of the happy, good vibes feel that normally is Painted Tree Tyler. We are almost all done with the tear down and then will be heading to Henderson with heavier hearts than we started the week with.

A huge positive to the chaos is the attitude of all of the vendors. Even though they were devastated yesterday and today, EVERYONE is willing to jump in and help each other as needed. Even if it’s an encouraging word. 🖤

I’m extremely thankful for the texts, calls, and overall check ins that I’ve gotten the past two days. It matters and it helps. Thank you.

If you see me later and my face is VERY red and my eyes are a little bloodshot, please ignore it. Those were well earned tears.

I’m sure many have heard about it by now, but Painted Tree closed all 62 locations today by filling for bankruptcy. Unfortunately, we will not be getting our rent back that we just paid, our deposit or any sales from this month.

With that being said we have a certain amount of days to possibly get all of our inventory, shelving, and wall panels out of the location.

I will be having a HUGE sale soon of the inventory from PT to try to make up the losses.

So many other people are impacted way worse than we are as I know of several that were in 20 or so stores and are panicking on how to get their inventory. For many, this was their only income source, so a lot of small businesses need lots of prayers right now.

With show season upon us, I just wanted to say…

For every stock show parent sending those “absence notes”… I see you.

Because sometimes “gone for the day” really means
feeding at daylight
driving four hours
walking a ring
and chasing a dream.

Call it an absence if you want I call it real-life education. And sometimes the things being taught OUTSIDE of the classroom are more important than the things inside the classroom!
