Studio Update — Iron Speak Begins
Texas summer has me locked out of the studio again.
I work all day in a warehouse without air conditioning, and the last thing I need is triple‑digit heat and humidity waiting for me at home.
So while I wait for cooler weather, here’s a peek into my glaze log book — the base formula and test matrix for my first round of glaze development. I’m mapping out a stable base and the right balance of colorants.
This is my first real dive into glaze formulation, and I’m trying to be as thorough as possible. My three pillars will define my work going forward: Earth (Bamboo Grove), Water (Mistfall), and Fire (Iron Speak) — all cone 10 reduction in my new gas kiln.
Every line in this notebook is a step toward building my studio glaze language.
