“I love to pray. It’s one of the best things in the world.” - Grammy Senn 🙏🏻🕊️🌿

Yesterday, when I was with my Grammy, I asked if she could pray with me and she immediately bowed her head with no concern for who was watching or what others might think. 🙏🏻 She asked for me to start the prayer…as my words flowed, she gripped my hands and as we finished praying, she opened her eyes that seemed to have a flash of twinkle that I had not seen in a while and suddenly, the biggest smile appeared on her face. ✨😍 She boldly said, “I love to pray. It’s one of the best things in the world.” 🙏🏻 Despite what Alzheimer’s Disease has robbed from her life, she never complains, but rather somehow finds deeper and greater joy in every circumstance. 🙌 Just as Job in the Bible, despite every trial, heartbreak, and satanic attack that came over his life, his faith never wavered. 🕊️My Grammy is the Job-like example in my world and for my entire life, she has been teaching me that circumstances don’t dictate your joy and peace, but rather that true joy and peace can only come from a life with the Savior. ✝️ In our busy lives, we often forget the beauty of a simple conversation with God - yesterday was another reminder that I must never forget the incredible power of prayer and never lose the child-like wonder my Grammy has that we can talk to the King of the Heavens and Earth, anytime, anywhere, and He will stop the world to listen! 🌎🙏🏻🕊️💙

Can you believe that Jesus left an entire herd of sheep for YOU? Today, reflecting on this verse brought tears of gratitude to my eyes. Whenever you feel small or insignificant, think about how the Savior who created you in entirety would leave everything to rescue YOU, would sacrifice everything to save YOU, would give everything to love YOU. 💙Even those that hate and despise His name or deny His very existence, He prays for daily and waits for them to call His name in repentance. Every time a sinner comes home, the angels celebrate and the Heavens rejoice! How incredible is that? YOU ARE SEEN - YOU ARE IMPORTANT! If you have not given your heart to Christ, He is waiting - He is waiting to carry you home. 🐑🙏🏻

What is your testimony? We all have that moment that everything changed in our life because of God’s goodness and grace. Lives saved, bodies healed, brokenness restored. We all have that BUT GOD moment. The moment you felt that the world was falling apart, BUT GOD had different plans. It’s not over until God says it’s over, so if you woke up today, God is still working in your life. 🙏🏻🕊️🌅

When you choose to follow Jesus, God does not promise pure bliss, a life without worry, or that every day will be a triumph. Rather, He asks that you pick up YOUR CROSS DAILY - carrying a cross is not an easy task. You may trip on the journey or collapse under the weight of the burden you carry, but God does promise us something - that we don’t carry our cross alone and that one day ever burden will be worth it - we don’t have to fear death because as a Christian, death is just an address change. 🕊️ Whatever cross you are carrying today, please don’t give up - take one more step. You are not alone and Heaven is in sight.🪽🙏🏻✨

What is your heart condition today?❤️ Maybe, you are on the mountain top and feel as though nothing in the world could bring you down or maybe you are in the lowest valley you’ve ever been in and don’t know when you will ever see the light again. 🏔️🌄🌅Whether you’re rejoicing on the mountaintop or trudging through the valley, you have a shepherd holding your hand and guiding your steps. 🐑 A shepherd that cares for your victories and your struggles - He feels your joy and your infirmities and not only, stands by your side, but experiences every emotion with you. He smiles when you smile and cries when you cry - that’s the beauty of His love. 💕✝️ He is close to you even when you feel alone. Keep moving forward and listening for His voice. He knows where you are today and where you will be tomorrow - What may seem like the end, may be His way of getting you to your beginning! 🌿🙏🏻

“So Jesus said to them, ‘Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.’”- Matthew 17:20 🌱🏔️🌅🙏🏻

A mustard seed is all you need and quite honestly, it may be all you have. 🌱This photograph of my Grammy always inspires me and reminds me that God can use anyone, anywhere. Who knew that one day God would use this Alabama girl as His vessel to pastor and plant churches right beside my Papa? 💒 Was it easy? Never. Was it worth every sacrifice? My Grammy would undoubtedly say, “Absolutely” with a sweet smile on her face and twinkle in her eye. Many question why my Grammy currently suffers in her physical body after a life dedicated to the ministry, but the funny thing is my Grammy has never questioned a single thing. In fact, she has done quite the opposite - when my faith becomes weary, she grabs my hands, looks me in the eyes, and says, “God’s got this”! That’s mustard seed faith in action - despite the worst, she believes in God’s goodness. Her faith continues to move mountains - Her pastoral legacy lives on far past the sanctuary because of her mustard seed faith. 🌱🌅🙏🏻🏔️

We started Olive and Thorn Vintage Goods as a way to help Grammy’s favorite memories stay alive in each of your homes as daily reminders that time nor Alzheimer’s Disease can ever rob us from the joys of days gone by, but even more than that, your mother-daughter-duo started this business in hopes that we could continue Grammy’s ministry in our own way. However, it’s funny how Grammy is the one keeping her ministry alive all on her own through her unwavering faith and resilience. 🌱🌅🙏🏻
