Red Truck Company

Red Truck Company Creative energy channeled into beaded jewelry, leather jewelry, paintings or whatever I feel like making

Red Truck Company designs, creates and sells hand painted wood signs that are made to look vintage and timeworn. Each sign has a coat of wax to ensure the color and wood will be protected and weather-resistant. These signs are customized to your preferences of color and wording - then are shipped directly to you by USPS Priority mail. If you have a design in mind, send a message with a description and size -- you'll be sent a price quote and a link to purchase your custom order when you approve. Red Truck Company is a small business based in Union, Kentucky, about 20 minutes south of Cincinnati.

I normally keep my jewelry (Adora Jewelry KY) and paintings (Red Truck Company) separate…but…I painted these cute little Lonely Ghost charms so it’s a little of both my worlds colliding! $10/charm or $18/charm +chain.

So I bought a clear bag and strap from Hobby Lobby tonight for my mom for an event we’re going to that requires them. I got home tonight and noticed the bag had no hooks for a strap. We leave in the morning. Sooo…I used some leather, shape punch and rivets. A few trials and errors later…voi la!

While painting flowers isn’t my forte and I tend to be my own worst critic, it’s good to break out of my comfort zone. I took an enjoyable 2-hour paint workshop today and just let the brushes go.

5 years ago on a girls trip to Pigeon Forge, we took a drive into Cherokee, NC. I saw this old motel sign and couldn’t turn into the parking lot fast enough to get pictures because I knew I had to paint it. I had to recreate the background week sans gas station. There’s actual rust using oxidized iron I used. The picture doesn’t do it justice. One of my two favorite 2’x3’ paintings.

Practicing painting in a different medium, other than acrylic. Watercolor is challenging because it’s easy to muddy up the colors versus acrylic where layering colors and popping in highlights are easier. This is my furbaby, Jinx. She’s a Tabby Maine C**n and I wanted practice with her complex coloring, markings and lighting.
