The shop has officially been closed a year now. I am sure all of you just like the volunteers miss it so much. No news to report but I will as soon as we know anything. Barbara keeps a check on it.
Wanted to let you know the flea market that was to be in April got rained out and now has been changed to May 16.

Today was our monthly luncheon with volunteers. Great to see everyone and catch up. Barbara will be meeting with our new contractor next week. Because of the furlough, all contracts were null and void so the process starts over. She has her notes and ready to get the process started again. May 9 we will have been closed a year so let’s hope things start progressing. As soon as I ever know anything I will for sure post here. We just have to be patient. We all want the shop to open sooner than later. Our faithful volunteer Lily will turn 80 on May 3 so we sang to her. It is also Volunteer Appreciation month so we had cake for that too.

Thursday our volunteers had our monthly luncheon. It is just so nice that we can meet up and check in with everyone. Along with our group pictures I have added a few opportunities for you to check out. Base wide garage sale tomorrow, book discussion at the base library and volunteer opportunity. No updates on the shop. We keep hoping we will hear good news but nothing so far.

As the day comes to an end I hope all had a nice day. No news on the shop to report. We have heard a new person has taken over the contract so maybe things will start happening but as of now nothing.
We have had some volunteers sick but they are improving. Hope all of you are doing well.

I hope all are staying warm and safe. So glad to see the sun out. Our volunteer lunch last week was so good and always great to see everyone. We so wish we had better news about reopening but nothing to report. Once we do know something, I will post right away.
I did want to ask you a favor. Our base library lost several volunteers during the shutdown. They still continue to do great things for the base. This Saturday, they could use your help at this event. Mainly to check kids in and send them in the right direction. I am sure they would appreciate the help.

Good morning. I know it has been awhile since I have posted anything. No real updates other than it might be longer than we thought. After the furlough all contracts were null and void so the contract process to remodel the part of the building we are to go to has started over. We just have no idea when we might reopen.
Yesterday the volunteers had our annual Christmas party. It was so good to see everyone and catch up a little. A lot of food and a very good time. We miss you all.
From the staff and volunteers, we wish you the happiest of holidays however you celebrate. We do hope to see you in the coming year.
