and now the transformation — Green River melons stacked high, smoke rolling, and a spot we and the community have made pretty cool.

🍉🖤 BLACK DIAMOND WATERMELONS ARE BACK — WEEK 2! 🖤🍉 Open Friday August 14th to Sunday the 16th.
Last week y’all cleaned us out early… those striped watermelons from Vetere Melons in Green River were unreal 😍 Sweet, juicy, and honestly too close to call against the Black Diamonds. Some of you said they were even better. We agree — they were that good 🔥
So we went straight back for more!
This week we’ve got: • Fresh Black Diamond watermelons 🖤 (deep dark rind, ruby-red sweetness) • Special Canary melons 💛 — bright yellow, crisp, and ridiculously good (Greg at Vetere said these ones are special… we tasted one and he’s right 🤤) • More classic cantaloupe too 🍈
Fun little connection — Greg Vetere still remembers the gentleman who used to haul melons up and down Highway 89 and all through Piute County with a trailer until he was 83 and made his last load. There’s a soft spot for this area, and we’re proud to bring these Green River melons to our neighbors ❤️
These melons don’t last forever… second week is here and the season moves fast. Don’t be the one who waited too long!

Plus the best peaches of the season (a couple different kinds and they smell as sweet as can be 🍑), fresh summer squash, and more.

Well… here we go again. 😅
Flash floods off the Cottonwood fire scars just sent water and debris across the road at least five times today between the Turkey Barn and the reservoir. 10 Mile Ranch Road got in on the action too. Just another Tuesday in the summer of 2026, I guess. 🌊🚧
Fire → flood → drought → more fire → smoke → extra heat → weird humidity… and now this. I’ve lived here a long time and I swear I’ve never seen a stretch quite like it. 🔥💧🏜️
But hey — look where we live. This country doesn’t scare easy, and neither do the people in it. We’ll keep sweeping the mud, checking the roads, and showing up. 💪
You can’t cry about it… so we might as well laugh a little and keep the coffee (and the ribs) hot. ☕🔥

🎉 Joy Station Update – Melons Going Fast! 🍉🔥
These Green River watermelons and cantaloupe are flying out the door — some of the sweetest we’ve ever had!
We’ve got half chickens ready and a few racks of baby back and St. Louis ribs cooked the same style.
Great-looking peaches are here too, plus watermelon samples so you can taste before you buy.
Special for our locals — don’t miss out!
We’re also loaded up with:
• Homeopathic creams
• Flavored soft sugars
• Homemade vanilla
• And lots of other goodies local folks have brought out for us to sell
We’ll stay open a little later today while these melons last.

🎉 Big Melon News at Joy Station! 🍉🍈
We just got a load of the real deal straight from Green River!
These are the melons everyone has been asking for. We went right to the grower himself — Greg Vetere of Vetere Melons — and brought back the sweetest red watermelons we’ve ever tasted. Seriously, no sweeter watermelon around. We’ve also got cantaloupe and Canary melons, with more specialty melons on the way: honeydew, Israelis, Crenshaws, and others rotating in and out as the season goes.
Green River has been growing world-famous melons for well over 100 years. The hot days, cool nights, and sandy soil along the river create something special. Families like the Veteres have been at it for generations (their roots go back to 1918). Melon Days every September still celebrates that long tradition.
The drive out there feels like another world — rolling through the desert and the San Rafael Swell, then suddenly you’re in melon country. Worth every mile.
We start selling them tomorrow (Friday the 7th) and all weekend.
The season isn’t long, so the more we sell, the more we can bring back. Come get yours while they last!

🎉 Joy Station is Open This Weekend – Friday, Saturday & Sunday! 🍑🍖🌻
Fair week is here and the rodeo is tonight! We’re open 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (or later) and ready for you.
Welcome, locals! Things are cleaned up and looking good around the station. After everything this summer has thrown at us, a little normalcy feels pretty great. We live here, and it’s been amazing watching people step up and take care of each other. We truly appreciate everyone who’s come by — especially when things were a little tougher. Locals keep us (and Main Street Eats) going strong. ❤️

2026 Rodeo Week 🤠 What a great night! The car show, dinner, and entertainment were all fantastic.
Big hats off to former longtime Junction Mayor Ricky Dalton and his crew for cooking pork ribs for 250+ (guess). Most folks don’t realize the work that goes into it — unpacking the cases, trimming, seasoning… and ribs are one of the hardest things to cook for a big crowd because they take up so much surface space, no matter what you’re cooking on. Super impressive.
Proud to be part of this community. Big smiles all around. As someone who cooks ribs at Joy Station, my hat’s off to you guys! 🙌🤩

🎉 Joy Station is Open Today – Sunday, July 26th! 🍖🍉
We’re open and ready for you! We’re aware of the water restrictions and continue to prioritize food safety. All sides, salads, and food prep are done at our kitchen in Circleville. On site we always use bottled water and vinegar solution to sanitize and sterilize — it’s perfect for wood cutting boards and everything else we handle.
