It was "Seize the Day" today. Picking every bloom I could. Oh, glorious October! Flower season is about ready for a long winter's nap, but before they go- WHAT A SHOW! Spent the day in my 'happy place' among the blossoms & blooms. AND making multiple bouquets showcasing the kaleidoscope of colors. IF you want to make a loved one's day special or brighten your own. HURRY ! When the 'Frost is on the Pumpkin', it's over. 🥰

Eastern Cicada Killer Wasp: I took the pic on the Rt as my grandson and I watched that very stalwart, ambitious Cicada Wasp drag the paralyzed cicada more than twice its size and weight beneath it across the grass and then up a tree until we lost sight of it. Yep, this one was at least 1-1/2" long. The cicada wasps look absolutely FORMIDABLE and I admit my first encounter with one spotted in my flower field scared the livin' bejeebers out of me! I thought "OMG, mutant hornet on steroids!" Curiosity kicked in and I found out what it really was. In short (you can look up more details on the Cicada Killer Wasp if you're interested) their existence is yet another example of God's amazing balance of nature. It was fascinating for my grandson and I to watch one in action. I'm still VERY wary around them, they make enough noise you definitely know when you're in their territory, but I have to admit they haven't seemed overtly aggressive toward me when I'm harvesting flowers around a ground nest... just thought I'd share one of my adventures from the flower farm. ( And for the record- the pics of the hand holding one of the CKW... NOPE, NOT My Hand!! That's a " I-Googled-it" photo share. 😲😅
