It’s time for our obligatory fall reminder…
Hunting season is about six weeks away, we’re understaffed, and we’re currently busier than we can comfortably handle. That’s a good problem to have, and we genuinely appreciate it.
Over the last year, we’ve reduced the number of fi****ms services we offer, and we’ll likely continue narrowing that list. We’d rather do fewer things well than take in every job that comes through the door and disappoint people with the result or the turnaround time.
With that in mind, when we quote an estimated lead time, please plan around it. We’ll always get work out sooner when we can, but calling a day or two later isn’t going to move a job ahead of everyone who was already waiting.
There are fewer shops offering gunsmithing and fi***rm services than there used to be. It’s skilled, time-consuming work, and managing expectations is becoming as important as doing the work itself.
Thankfully, the overwhelming majority of our customers understand that. You’re patient, reasonable, and appreciative of the work we do, and you’re the reason we continue offering these services at all.
For the occasional customer who expects otherwise, we’re becoming increasingly comfortable simply not being the right shop for you.
We’re going to protect our employees, protect the quality of our work, and keep focusing our time on the customers and services that make sense for Trident.
