Summer bass patterns continue to evolve, and this week’s report covers what we’re seeing on the water right now. The Texas rig continues to produce quality fish, we’re starting to see a frog bite develop over topped-out grass mats, and several great trips this week featured familiar faces, first-time catches, and bass over 4 pounds.

Not every fishing trip starts with a reservation. Sometimes it starts with winning a contest.

These teachers earned a day on Lake Guntersville through a contest sponsored by Eli Lilly, and they made the most of it. It was a hot day on the water, but the bass cooperated and everyone had a great time with plenty of laughs along the way.

Sometimes all it takes is making the right move at the right time.

Capt. Phillip’s group started the morning fishing the grass and put together a good early bite. Later they made the move offshore, got a school fired up on the deeper structure, and made the most of the opportunity while it lasted. That’s what makes Lake Guntersville so much fun. Every day is different, and staying one step ahead of the fish can make all the difference.
