September 11, 2001 8:46 AM- We Will Never Forget

Law Enforcement for more than 30 years, I was watching the news with my daughter after working 3rd shift the night before when the towers were struck. My phone rang and I was called into work for the next several hours to assist with potential target threats defense. I know exactly where I was that day.

Most of us in this career of Law Enforcement spent the next several years training for a new threat possibility on our nation’s soil, tasked with not only Enforcing Laws but also keeping watch. Training was changed and unique. School threats, business threats, learning hard targets and soft targets etc.

Law Enforcement and how we truly did our jobs changed that day forever. We carried more equipment, and more gear to help us do our jobs effectively. We were even issued Gas Masks, NVG Night Vision/ Thermal Goggles for evening patrols and we patrolled heavily.
Here is 25 years later- we remember those 343 Fire Fighters, 72 Police Officers, and all who bravely answered the call and who never came home to their families.🚓
