THE QUIET GEOMETRY OF TATTERSALL

What if the familiar rhythm of a cherished textile could be woven into stone—its quiet checks transformed into light, line and touch?

Tattersall draws on the measured cadence of a classic woven check, reimagining it in natural marble. Fine tesserae and precise linear bands form a tailored architectural surface—crisp from a distance, richly tactile up close.

Why two white marbles?

Because restraint is never without nuance.

Polished Calacatta captures the light with luminous clarity, while tumbled Thassos softens the composition with gently eased edges and a velvety touch. Together, they create depth without relying on color—a study in proportion, finish and touch.

Designed for spaces that call for order without severity: tailored kitchen backsplashes, serene baths and showers, quiet fireplace surrounds, sculptural feature walls and beautifully lived-in floors.

THE SURFACE INTERVIEW — TEA GARDEN

What defines the Tea Garden mosaic?

A sweeping botanical composition, interpreted through hand-cut natural-stone tesserae. Overscale blossoms unfold across the surface while delicate bees move between them, transforming the garden floor into an immersive work of art.

What stones shape the palette?

A nuanced blend of pale ivory, soft white, mist grey, mineral blue, deep cobalt, watery aqua, charcoal and warm sand-toned stone. Each tessera carries its own subtle variation, giving the flowers dimension and allowing the design to shift beautifully with the changing light.

How was the surface finished?

The stone has a softly honed, low-sheen finish that preserves its natural character while lending the composition a quiet, timeworn elegance. Fine grout lines and precisely placed tesserae create graceful movement through every petal, wing and contour.

The result is both artwork and architecture: a bespoke Maison Surface that brings the romance of a garden permanently underfoot.

What makes a surface architectural?

Bexley begins with rhythm. Small Calacatta tesserae and slender linear pieces repeat with the discipline of a drawn elevation—quiet from across the room, richly tactile when you move closer.

Why one stone in two finishes?

Because depth does not always need contrast in color. In Poem, the stone is Calacatta, expressed in leathered and tumbled finishes. Leathered holds light in a soft, low glow; tumbled relaxes the geometry with gently softened edges. The result is white on white, yet never flat.

What does it bring to a room?

Order without severity. Movement without noise. On a wall, Bexley becomes a finely worked backdrop. Underfoot, its cadence turns architecture into an everyday experience.

Q — What gives Kayden its character?

A — Kayden takes the measured rhythm of a woven textile and translates it into natural stone. Slender tesserae turn from horizontal to vertical, creating architectural order through proportion, shadow and touch.

Q — Why Calacatta and Thassos?

A — Calacatta is tumbled, gently softening the edges and allowing its natural veining to feel collected rather than polished. Thassos is leathered, tempering its luminous white surface with a quieter, tactile finish.

Both stones speak in white, but they hold light differently—and that subtle contrast gives Kayden its depth.

Q — Where does Kayden belong?

A — Wherever texture should be felt before it is noticed: a tailored kitchen backsplash, a serene bath or shower, a powder room, fireplace surround or thoughtfully detailed floor.
