To everyone in and around Champaign County who was affected by the storms that just came through — our hearts and prayers are with you. 🙏❤️
Today, we are reminded just how quickly life can change. Things can be replaced. Homes can be repaired. Trees can be cleaned up. But lives cannot be replaced.
Our home was in the direct path of whatever came through. We still don’t know if it was a tornado or straight-line winds, but the damage around us is heartbreaking. There is a lot of cleanup ahead, a lot of things that will need to be repaired or replaced, and honestly, it’s overwhelming.
But through all of it, we are counting our blessings because we are safe. Our family is together. And at the end of the day, that is what matters most.
Our hearts are especially heavy for everyone at the fair and for every family who was caught in the storm. We can only imagine the fear and uncertainty so many people experienced.
Please check on your neighbors. Check on your friends. Reach out to anyone you know who may need help. ❤️
This is what community is about. When one of us hurts, we all hurt. When one of us needs help, we show up. We may have damaged homes, broken trees, and a long road of cleanup ahead, but we also have each other.
Champaign County, we are in this together.
Praying for every person, every family, every home, and everyone who is still waiting to know that their loved ones are safe.
Hold your people a little tighter tonight. Hug your family. Be grateful for the things that cannot be replaced.
