A lot of plants aren’t looking their best in this heat, but crossvine is still shining! These plants are on their THIRD wave of blooms and looking great!

Crossvine is a great choice for anyone looking for a climber that is both drought and heat tolerant. Plus, they are great for attracting hummingbirds!

Plant them in full or part sun.

I have a lot of favorite plants, but when it comes to ground covers, Orange Carpet Zauschneria is easily my #1! This perennial is low-maintenance, drought tolerant, and best of all, is a riot of color all summer long! It begins blooming in mid-late June and keeps going until frost. Mature plants look like a solid mass of orange, hence the name Orange Carpet.

It likes full or part sun. This plant only grows to about 6 inches tall and spreads to about 18-24 inches. It does not like to be overwatered, but it thrives in dry, poor soils, especially if it is rocky or sandy. It is cold hardy to -20 degrees. It is also a hummingbird magnet!

This plant thrives in our climate and is one that I think everybody should have! If you would like to add these to your landscape, stop by and get one while they last!

Coming from Ontario, pass through Vale and take a slight right turn across the railroad tracks onto Graham Blvd towards Billy Creek reservoir. Go a couple miles and turn right onto Birch Rd. Follow Birch to the end of the pavement and I’ll be right there on your left! If you end up on the canal, you drove right past me! Please remember to be respectful of the neighbors and drive slow!

Blue Diamond Limonium is a beautiful, drought-tolerant perennial that is under appreciated in the garden! They thrive in rock gardens and are a great low maintenance option that also attracts an abundance of pollinators. To top it all off, they make great cut flowers too!

Growing just 6-12 inches wide and 10-12 inches tall, they can be tucked into any space and look right at home! They like full sun and are cold hardy to -30 degrees.
