What’s the biggest arrangement you have ever made?
"100 roses in a basket arrangement for Alice Cumbow’s 100th Birthday"

What flower do you dislike the most & why?
"There are just some flowers that are hard to find and when we find them they are not always consistently beautiful. Imagine ordering Peonies for a wedding- big beautiful Peonies and when we get them they are the size of half dollar and look a large marble??? Yikes that makes me hate Peonies!! But when they come in just starting to open and the fragrance is so sweet…I love them. Love Hate relationship at it’s best!!!! "

What’s your record on how many Christmas trees you have put up in the store at one time?
"I believe that was 32..maybe 36 if we count the short ones."

How many buckets do you think are in this shop?
"I would guess over a 100. We use buckets for everything!! They corral things that seem to get out of hand quickly and they hydrate all the things that need to drink continually."

So… what does Bill get you for your anniversary & Valentine’s Day?
"That would be a card!!! It’s he who gets the flowers from me!! He loves roses. His Mom always grew great roses. So for Valentine’s Day he gets a dozen and we both get to enjoy!!"

Have you ever turned that coffee pot off?
"NEVER! What a silly thought!! We always need coffee!! Make another pot and let’s keep moving!!! "

Thursday, September 24th: Our List

“My mom doesn’t like carnations.”
“She cannot stand the color yellow.”
“I think roses smell like poo.”
“I’m allergic to lilies.”
Ok, no problem. Let us know these things. We actually care.
We have an ongoing list on our cooler door with these notes. We don’t want to deliver a bouquet of lilies to someone and send them into anaphylaxis. We don’t carry Epi-pens and we’re only doctors to plants! We try our very best to make sure it’s just how you want it.

Wednesday, September 23rd: Weddings

Here comes the bride, binder at her side, with notes and notes of flowers, we’re here with the flower super powers!
Bring it in sister, and let us take a look! Weddings are fun. End of story. No jokes, no sarcasm. We just love weddings.
Notes are good.
Pics are better.
Organization is superb.
And we’re always ready to help sort it out!

I asked Vicky: What was the most fun wedding that you have created for?

"I can’t think of the 'most fun' one but I do remember the shortest time to plan one was 6 days . The bride thought the Mom was ordering and the Mom thought the Bride was ordering.
7 bridesmaids and 7 groomsman, the Bride and Groom. Corsages and Boutonnieres in turquoise and white. The dresses and tuxes had not been ordered or found. The cake had not been ordered. The food had not been ordered and guess what!!! We did it!! All of it came together and the wedding went on as planned!!!"

Tuesday, September 22nd: Balloons

Ummm… don’t be weird. We have helium and that makes balloons more fun than your breath.
We have an assortment of colors in latex balloons and an assortment of fun mylar (foil) balloons to choose from. Balloons seriously add so much more fun to anything!

Here's a fact you probably don’t want to know… before rubber was invented, people used dried animal bladders and pig intestines to blow up. I bet those birthday parties were a blast. Good times!

…missed my shot to throw a “party animal” pun in there somewhere didn’t I?
