Pieces of Jayde Uncommon Goods An enchanting local artist-owned shoppe in downtown Valparaiso, Indiana. In 2021, she opened the brick and mortar version of her brand in Chesterton, Indiana.

You'll find handmade jewelry, carefully sourced crystals, a curated book and Tarot selection, local handmade art from amazingly talented folks and so much more! Pieces of Jayde is both a jewelry store and an eclectic shoppe, filled with unique items you won’t find anywhere else! Founder Jayde McAloon began creating jewelry in 2011, and took her wares on the road soon after. Jayde's work incorporates natural elements found in and around the Dunes. The shoppe features Jayde’s unique jewelry pieces including real honeycomb and butterfly wing necklaces, as well as pieces crafted from crystals, wishbones, handmade focals and more. You’ll also find locally created artwork, loose teas, Tarot decks, mindfully, sourced, crystals, and a wide array of eclectic items. In addition to items for purchase, Pieces of Jayde offers workshops and classes on a variety of topics, from making a wire wrapped crystal pendant to how to use a pendulum for divination, how to discover and work with your spirit animal, an even making a fun witch hat for Halloween. More from Salem. This shop, Enchanted, and the book, Wicca for the Solitary Practitioner, literally changed my life. Although I don’t specifically follow the Wiccan rede, reading this book for the first time after purchasing it at Laurie Cabot’s shop in Salem in 2000, a lifetime and a different me ago, was a catalyst for my evolution. i finally found the words that described what I had always felt: That Spirit, Creator, whatever you want to name it, could be different that what we were told in Catholic school.
We also visited the Ropes Mansion gardens, which were breathtakingly beautiful even when the light of summer is beginning to fade.
Finally, we got Salem tattoos. We like to commemorate our travels with an ink diary. You can write about your travels in a book or you can wear the ink on your skin. Both are valid! We went to Acorn Tattoo in downtown Salem and Guest Artist Ally did a great job with my besom (broom) and Mike’s witch’s symbol.
Finally, a quick visit to the Bewitched statue, which is an iconic landmark in Salem.

I made this real deer jawbone suncatcher and I’m happy with how it turned out! The black and grey stone is a polished piece of Scottish beach stone I picked up last year on a beach outside of Edinburgh and had our silversmith Rick polish for me. Hard to photograph, but come see it in person!

We had such a fun day today! The weather cooperated before this big storm is supposed to hit, so we packed our day and put in a lot of steps, too.
