Y'all may have noticed that for about a year I've had a free book cart that I roll out in front of our store on nice days. That was 100% inspired by Dolly's Imagination Library.
I try to have free books for children and adults, however the children's books went fast and my other books are rather picked over so I haven't put the cart out the last couple of weekends. Downtown Junk Fest is our biggest weekend of the year, so we've been super busy with getting ready for that and for the next couple of weeks we'll be busy restocking the store after the event so I won't have a chance to go out and find books for the cart before 9/25.
If anyone has books they would like to donate so we can have a full cart ready to roll out on 9/25 to celebrate Dolly's life of generosity, please feel free to drop them off Friday and Saturday. If you can't come by then, you can leave them on the little step to the right of our door and Mom or I will grab them when we go out to check the mail.

Grab your girlfriends, add a little rhinestone sparkle, and get ready for a Girls’ Night Out that’s all about Dolly, downtown & BUTTERFLIES! 💕🦋
On 9/25, participating Main Street businesses are staying open late for an evening of shopping, food, drinks, specials, giveaways and plenty of Dolly-inspired fun.
And at 5 PM, Main Street TAKES FLIGHT! 🦋🦋🦋
🦋 HOW THE BUTTERFLY RELEASE WORKS
Beginning at 4 PM, participating businesses will hand out a limited number of Butterfly Cards to customers. They are FREE and first come, first served while supplies last!
If you receive a Butterfly Card, hang onto it! Just before 5 PM, return to the participating business that gave you your card and exchange it for a LIVE Painted Lady butterfly.
Then, at 5 PM SHARP, customers and merchants all along Main Street will release their butterflies TOGETHER!
Hundreds of butterflies could be taking flight from storefronts up and down Main Street at the very same moment. 🦋✨
Butterflies have a special connection to Dolly, who has long embraced them as symbols of beauty, freedom and following your dreams — so we can’t think of a better way to celebrate!
After the release, Girls’ Night Out keeps going until 7 PM, with participating businesses offering their own specials, treats, drinks, giveaways and Dolly-inspired surprises.
