✨ Seed starting time ✨

This season we are trying something different, we are starting and planting out sooner than we have in years past.

I always do a happy dance around this time, my favorite seeds to start in the fall are snapdragons!

I knew I had to grow more next season and well…. Here’s more lol.

Approximately 1,800 seeds in this photo 🤯

With more heading our way in a month or two.

Colors range from bronze to apricot to blush and this season we are even trialing reds and yellows. I would be lying if I said that wasn’t out of my comfort zone!!

Can’t wait to see these blooms come spring.

This weather has been less than friendly…the farm is quiet as we gear up for the fall season and somewhere in the between I made a plan to change a lot of what we do.

I have around 5-6 shoe boxes filled with different zinnia “varieties”, from florets, dawn creek, and Blomma to small breeders, OP seeds from trades, and more.

Hello Spring 2027! 🌸✨

Yesterday and today we’ve set out to begin our Spring 2027 seed starting. Excited is an understatement!! I am trying a few new beauties next year.

Our 2027 plans include more snaps and more fillers. We are planning Orlaya, Bells Of Ireland, Foxglove, Snapdragons, and more. Such an exciting time here on the farm!!

Along with seed starting we are planning out our rows - walkways, row measurements, number of rows, and more.

It’s a whole lot of whimsy around here next season and I’m loving it 💗

This week has been tough 😢

On Sunday I noticed several of our blooms looking not so hot. They were partially if not fully eaten, only few at that time. Fast forward to Monday, it was much more than the previous day and we were able to cut anything. I could not find a bloom without damage! Today I went out to see if I could cut anything and my field is essentially empty, our hungry friends essentially cleared out my blooms.

Today I will figure out a plan and move forward with a positive mindset.

I don’t know what the end of the week holds, but hopefully by Monday we can have some bouquets out the door. 😊

We are so saddened to share 😢

It’s looking like we may not have a restock for the mercantile today or possibly even until Friday. My harvest has been cut short due to finding 99% of the flowers have a friend visiting and that friend is very hungry.

A majority of our blooms have been eaten partially or fully 😢

I will update here if I can find more blooms to take down to the store. 🌸
