One of my favorite floofy dahlias ✨

Bred by River's WB Dahlias! This dahlia is such a showstopper with its transformative peachy/pink coloring and full, round stellar form.

The deets:
- 4” to 5” Stellar blooms
- 4ish foot tall plant
- Blooms in my area tend to be more peachy orange with a very warm pink reverse. However I’ve seen in other areas where it can lean very pink overall!
- it’s one of the few non-ball or formal decorative varieties I love using in bouquets because it adds such great movement!

Smokeshow is an understatement for how 🔥 this dahlia is!

This smoky watermelon coloring with a hint of berry atop dark strong stems is truly something special. I had an inkling this would be one of my favorite introductions this year, but after finally seeing it in person... it may have just taken the number one spot. 😍

The deets:
-Roughly 4” formal decorative blooms
-Mostly light watermelon pink with slight varying cool undertones, darker reverse and a smoky brown wash.
-4.5’ish tall plant
-Long dark stems

Pictured alongside 2 other watermelon blooms for comparison!
- Levi’s Melon is very similar in coloring and shape, however smokeshow has more of a smoky tone to its coloring. Levi’s Melon is slightly smaller and the color is more saturated, with less variation of colors.
-SB’s KA’s Choice is a fully saturated watermelon pink bloom that doesn’t fade or have much color variation. Although smokeshow is a lot lighter and has varying tones, the overall hue of her is pretty close to the watermelon pink of SB’s KA’s Choice.

I’m so smitten with KA’s® Linen ✨

This one had been on my radar ever since I caught a glimpse of those delicate pinstripes against that perfect ivory coloring. But to my complete shock and awe, she also cups like a waterlily?! I didn’t think I could love her any more, but here we are 😍

The deets:
-Novelty bloom that has a cactus, formal decorative and waterlily qualities
-3.5 foot plant
-Blooms are a creamy ivory that leans a little yellow some days but never blinding. Sometimes a hint of blush makes an appearance near the centers. Each petal is lined with thin contrasting pink pinstripes giving it a soft and fancy vibe!
-Blooms are around 4 inches wide
-Although the cupping is, in my opinion, its most beautiful form, it only does this at night. Most blooms will appear like photo 3 during the daytime.

Another one that had been high on my wishlist that I finally got my hands on!

Sandia Ruthie ✨🍑💗
- Stellar
- Blooms around 5 inches
- Pink with subtle streaking and hints of peach and yellow
- Roughly 4ft tall
- Early to bloom
- Like many stellars, the petal shape seems to change slightly depending on temperature and day length. The last photo shows a bloom from 3 weeks ago where its petals are a bit wider and tend to point in varying directions. The latest blooms shown in the first few photos are more spindly and uniformly curving in a similar direction like a pinwheel!

The time has come for the dahlia spotlights ✨

Hapet Barbie has been high on my list for a couple of years now and I finally got my hands on her! So far it’s everything I wanted and more.

The deets:
- Pompon
- It’s about a 4ft tall plant
- Blooms are a soft white/ivory with hints of blush
- It was one of my first to bloom and is extremely prolific, the plant is loaded with flowers!
- High petal count but will still expose its center. Which for me is perfect because this variety is located in my breeding patch! I’m trying only to cut for photos but so far there’s about 6-8 seed pods on the plant and I’m ecstatic 🤩

Well worth the dahlia war ✨
