Sometimes you just need to slow down and go on a morning foraging walk.

This load was mostly test tiles of the glazes i found plus the one i already had but there were a few finished pieces. The glazing on the mugs is so good!

Todays harvest! The last of the cherries, bing and rainier off the smaller tree, raspberries are finally popping, the last of the peas, st John's wort, lavender, sage. Chamomile, and about 9 eggs. Quite a bit went bad over the weekend but that's just more for the birds and chickens.

We are at about 25 or so pounds total for the cherries for the season and the berries (raspberry, blackberry, marionberry) are just getting ramped up.

We are so blessed to have the opportunity to live on this little urban farm forgotten and ignored by previous tenants. The owners are so sweet and we love taking care of the obviously hard work they put into this space when they lived here. 💚

The branches look so good! We have also started moving the side and front tables out to give more space for beings of all types inside which is making a huge difference. Low key cannot wait till we can upgrade to a bigger space.

First day of down and aside from mother nature being off her meds and going from sun to hail to downpours and back? It was a great day! The energy at this faire is what it's SUPPOSED to feel like!

I am trying to be better about snapping photos of some of the awesome costumes and street skits we get to see. Grabbed a couple today of some fun ones.

And can we talk about the GLORIOUS mug?!?!

Booth upgrade update!

Adhd and life took over and of course it's 2 days till faire starts and NOW my brain is like "hey we should finish that project!" Except i edited down and made it a feasible task instead of overwhelming myself. My focus is the front of the booth. I can work on the others pieces and slowly add each week as I have time to get things done. Trying this new thing called let it go. Pair it down to what you can accomplish within the time and spoons you have. I am learning to work with my Fibromyalgia because flares mean I get almost nothing done and I want to avoid that as much as possible.

So here is the update of the front branches. We assemble everything tomorrow and I'll post pics!

Process 1st carving with pumpkin carving knives to get things more flat then with a bit of smoother cuts with a razor blade. Second carving is with a widish cone sanding bit for the dremel and carving lines and knots. Then a base coat of black paint, then a dry brush of a dark brown and then a grayish brown. Attaching with heavy duty magnets, and that will be the experiment of how and where to best hold for weather and time and eventual breakdown.

Starting Saturday! We will be the full run and then onto next!

New ceramic pieces and a few new embroidered pockets! The pockets go fast and we won't have any more embroidered items for a awhile as mom is out of commission for a bit.

See you all there!

Spent most of my days behind the scenes making flower crowns and nursing a chipped tooth/sore tongue, but we had a great time . Being nearby one of the entertainment areas that included the amazing show from and a fire troupe i didn't catch the name of gave us great shows all day and we made some new friends!

The energy at this faire is so much what the bigger faires should be, one of community and family, comraderie and connection. I love the bigger faires but sometimes money pushes out what faire should be about and the smaller faires still have that love.
Thanks for a great event! We will see everyone next year!

We recently moved the storage unit to a cheaper and closer place. It's mostly keeps, projects, and things we don't have space for but want when we have our family compound. We also donated a bunch. This required opening crates to see what was inside, and much to my surprise, a box of my old ceramic stuff was still around, one I'd thought was lost in the fire in 2019.

I finally had time to actually go through the crate and was surprised at what actually has survived all these years...15 to be exact, from when I was in art school.

There were the adhd half projects and things i just said I'll fix it later to. Which I will...Just a LOT later than I had planned! Apparently my color palette has not changed either...all the glazes are greens and browns mostly 😆.

The phoenix....that's a story for another time.
