Friend Of The Pine Barrens

Did you know Pine Barrens Tree Frogs are found here, in the Pine forests and sandhills of South-Central North Carolina?

Their preferred habitats included wet areas in pitch pine forests, streams and ponds,backwaters,bogs and Atlantic white cedar swamps.

Nocturnal, seldom seen.

They are classified as a nongame species with no open season. State-listed as an endangered species.

Andy Warhol paid homage to the Pine Barrens Tree Frog in 1983 when he was commissioned to create a portfolio of ten endangered species to raise environmental awareness.

The portfolio, known as "Endangered Species" was created in support of the Endangered Species Act, which was passed by Congress in 1973. Other animals within the portfolio include the Siberian Tiger, Bald Eagle and Giant Panda.

Happy New Year!

I may a few days late to the party but the sentiment remains the same ( and, of course it's in typical Aquarius fashion haha)

I'm wishing you all a year filled with everything that makes your heart sing and peace, love, prosperity and good health.

Thank you 2025 for the many life lessons learned, for personal growth , for friendship, family and memories that will last a life time, and to each and every person who has supported me in so many ways both personally, and with Gypsea Caravan.

Hey fam! What a day Holiday Market!

I was so busy, I didn't have time to snap any photos or videos but did me a solid , thank you!

Guys, I have so much to say I may make a wee video tomorrow, but for now let me say this....

Thank you, Jessie for the invitation to your amazing markets, always curated perfectly, always amazing & always honored to be part of the festivities!

Thank you for your grace & kindness checking in on me & all the vendors to see if we needed anything in the rain all day.Your kindness didn't go unoticed, we appreciate you & how much you genuinely care about community.

Thank you to my fellow vendors who braved the dismal weather today for smiles & a great attitude.

Always amazing to see so many insanely creative & talented friends! @ and many more.

WIsh I was closer to you guys today, but still great seeing you all briefly!

What an amazing turnout today despite the weather, the community truly showed up to support & love local!

We appreciate you!

What I want to say also is that I did not hear one person complain about the weather & it literally rained all day & it was cold, but that did not deter the community from showing up.

I saw so many people casually strolling in the rain with no umbrella for hours like it was a bright ,warm & sunny day out.

Such an incredible sight to see. Guys, it's all about attitude. That, and it's just water. haha

As someone who has been doing shows for nearly ten years in all weather, this is the first market I have done where the crowd wasn't even phased by rain.

Not one drop. Totally rad.

Saw so many friends, repeat customers, friends I haven't seen in four decades and of course all the cool doggos.

Met the raddest dog today, Riven,a fire Wolf dog with yellow green eyes. ❤️

I hope every person there had a great day,just like I did!

It's been a couple rough weeks here at the homestead with this guy, and he's finally on the mend and getting back to his sweet, goofy lovely self.
