Now that the dust has settled—literally, thanks to the rain—I would like to thank all the participants, staff, vendors, sponsors, and everyone who attended the 2026 NY State Championship.
For the fifth consecutive year, attendance grew, and we hit our goal of 400 entrants, which is a very proud moment for VNSP after our first year with 246! If you haven't already heard, VNSP has been awarded the 2027 NY State Shoot for our sixth consecutive year. Be on the lookout for the dates!
Speaking of that dust, we are already researching solutions in case we have such beautiful weather again next year. We had a great crew that kept things running smoothly—trappers, course managers, cleanup crews, kitchen staff, and many more. What did we miss? What would you like to see next year? We value your feedback and would love to hear your thoughts so we can continue improving and growing this event.

There were so many others who had very successful shoots, so please review the full results on Score Chaser. We had over $95,000 in payouts, lots of punches awarded, and a lot of great targets!
We watched a father-and-daughter shoot-off in the Make-A-Break finals for A–D Class. I kind of think Sally let Sean win, but either way, it was a lot of fun to watch! Ben Wise might have a new career as an auctioneer. He did a fantastic job with the Calcutta auction for the Make-A-Break shoot-offs. The crowd was really into it, they raised a nice pot for the winners, and they also raised $480 for the VNSP SCTP Team!
I know I missed most of it, but I hear Larry and his crew knocked it out of the park with the Friday night cocktail party and the Saturday night dinner. I hope everyone enjoyed all of the activities—from the shooting, to the vendors, dinners, and everything in between.
Be on the lookout for the 2027 dates, with registration planned to open around the beginning of the new year.
