If you’re beachside, see if you can spot these sea oats we just planted 🌾

Sea oats play a vital role in protecting our dunes. Their roots grow up to 40 ft deep and spread wide much like a net, helping hold the sand in place and prevent erosion. They also trap fine sand from wind, which helps build and maintain the dunes over time. They’re one of the biggest natural protections we have against storms.

We’re proud to play a small part in protecting our beaches 🐚

It’s happening!!!

Clusia are finally starting to push out new growth!

Here’s what to do IF your Clusia is showing signs of life:

🌿Do the scratch test: use your nail or a knife and gently scratch the stem. If it’s brown underneath, it’s dead and safe to trim.

🌿Trim: Cut just above the new growth to help your clusia fill back in thick and full over the next couple months.

🌿Feed + water: hit it with a fertilizer (we recommend a palm fertilizer) and water water water!

And if your Clusia don’t look like this yet, don’t panic! The Clusia are coming back at all different growth rates and may just need a little more time.

It’s not JUST plants.

It’s a place to step away from the chaos of the outside world. It’s a listening ear and a familiar, smiling face.
It’s knowing that no matter what your day held, you can walk in and someone will ask how you’re doing.

These are just some of the real conversations happening in our little garden 🤍🌱

🚨HANG TIGHT! MARCH 15th IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!

If you’ve taken a second to look around town, you’ve probably noticed tiny pops of green on your trees, bushes, and palms. That’s new growth!

It’s exciting… but it’s also extremely tender.

That soft, bright green growth is delicate and vulnerable to another cold snap. The damaged leaves may not look pretty, but right now they’re acting as essential protection for the healthy tissue underneath.

So hang tight. Do not trim yet.

Here’s what to do ON March 15th (not before):

✂️ Remove only what is fully brown and completely dead.
✂️ Leave anything with green life intact.
✂️ Make clean cuts just above new growth.
💧 After pruning (not before), fertilize with palm fertilizer (on all plants) and continue consistent watering.

We know it’s tempting (Trust us!! We feel the same way!) But patience right now will give your plants the best shot at bouncing back strong this spring 🌱

If you’re unsure what you’re looking at, stop by the shop and bring photos!

Here’s what’s going on at the garden center this week!

Our gorgeous hanging and potted flower arrangements are absolutely stealing the show at the front of the store right now. And if those aren’t speaking to you, we just brought in a TON of fresh color to help combat all that brown frost burn around town from a couple weeks ago.

Don’t forget! TOMORROW is 3RD Thursday featuring Rebecca McIlvain! 🎶🌿

Lots of exciting things happening. We’ll see you soon 🤍🌸
