Life happens- you get busy, your thrift budget is capped for the month, you’re saving up for something special/necessary but you really, really, REALLY, want to go thrifting! What do you do? Well, as I’ve said before, you shouldn’t feel obligated to buy anything when you’re out and about- looking can be just as fun and you can make it a game with your friends or family! “Find the weirdest thing that is orange!” Or “Ugliest Cat item” Or “Find a portrait and give them a backstory”. And if you think you’ll still be too tempted, you can stay home and treat yourself to a thrift haul videos. A lot of times you can get some real insight and tips from those too! ❤️Happy Thrifting❤️

One thing to keep an eye out for while thrifting is original artwork! There are so many beautiful and unique pieces out there in the world that can add just the right touch to your home. And sure, there are the stories of people who have found a Picasso at the thrift store and made $1 billion, but let’s be honest that is probably not why you’re thrifting. Also local art is a very cool thing to bring home as a souvenir from vacation and you can find tons of it when thrifting and can even find them at a bargain! It’s a wonderful way to remind you of your trip instead of being a random dust catcher.

If you think outside of the box a little you can save a lot and have a fun little customizable upcycle project! Planning ahead! Are you the type of person who gives cookies every year at the holidays? Or maybe a person who has 20 different sets of teachers, friends, coworkers etc to give them to? Stocking up on “out of season” items to package those goodies in is a great way to save money and help the planet! Tina not your thing? Look for bulk deals on serving plates. Deals like these pop up on marketplace all the time so keeping an eye out (and planning for storage until they’re needed) is a great way to be set up for success! ❤️Happy Thrifting!❤️
