We possess zero chill about these numbers 🤯📚

We usually see between 100-200 books entered in to our Back Alley Book Swap

This month?

Just shy of 500 books were entered into the swap 🤯 (and that’s not even counting the books TBB added!)

That means swappers had more than FIVE HUNDRED books to browse and take home 🥹📚🎉 and we saw some absolutely amazing ones roll through.

As we kick off summer break, we decided it was time to show a little love to our Juvenile Fiction and Young Adult sections 📚

Come take a peek at our newly refreshed shelves for readers ages 8-14 and 14+, featuring everything from beloved classics like The Baby-Sitters Club and Divergent to brand-new stories that MIGHT just become their next obsession.

For our younger readers, we’ve also restocked our reading timers! ⏱️ They’re a fun way to build reading habits and discover just how quickly 20 minutes can fly by when you’re lost in a good book 📖

This isn’t about reading faster, reading more books than everyone else, finishing a book you hate or checking boxes.

Today is the day!! 🎉📚 We can’t wait to welcome you to the Back Alley Book Swap at Tiny Bird Books!

Here’s everything you need to know:

📖 Arrive between 2:00-2:30pm
📖 Bring 1-5 pre-loved fiction👀 books
📖 Books must be in good condition and something you’d be excited to discover yourself. Please no stains, tears, missing pages, mold, bugs, strong odors or excessive damage. No mass market paperbacks.
📖 Check in your books at the swap table and receive one ticket for every book you enter.

While everyone gets settled, feel free to browse the bookstore, grab a coffee from or enjoy a cocktail from 🥂 Coffee and cocktails are welcome to travel through the bookstore with you!

⏰ The swap begins promptly at 2:45pm and usually moves fast, so don’t be late!

Once the swap starts:
✨ Use your tickets to shop the swap
✨ Turn in your tickets for your new-to-you books
✨ Any unused tickets can be redeemed inside Tiny Bird Books for 15% off the purchase of a new book

Most importantly: be kind + have fun and help us continue to build something positive for our amazing community of readers in Central Kentucky!
