Because of this shortage, we have sourced locally produced, fixed 8”x 8” and 9”x 9” stretcher bars made from hand-selected North American pine! To say they are beautiful is an understatement…

We have more AVAS Soie d’Alger than most…

Soie d'Alger is a premium, 7-ply spun silk made in France by Au Ver à Soie. It is a highly prized fiber in needlepoint for its soft texture and beautiful sheen.

You can easily separate the 7 plies to fit any canvas. For an 18-mesh canvas, we recommend using 2 to 4 strands depending upon your desired coverage. For a larger 13-mesh canvas, we suggest using 5 to 7 strands.

Because the silk is very smooth, it can twist while you stitch. Use a laying tool or a second needle to keep the strands flat. This will make your stitches look neat and even!

In celebration of Juneteenth, our retail location will be closed this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 19-21, 2026. We will reopen on Monday, June 22!
