Yep… candles can sweat too.

If you’ve ever noticed little beads of oil forming on the top of a candle—especially during hot weather—this is called candle sweating.

This little guy spent the day with me at an outdoor market, and the summer heat got to him. 🥵

Because I use a coconut-apricot wax blend, warmer temperatures can sometimes cause some of the fragrance oil within the wax to migrate toward the surface. It may look a little strange, but it doesn’t mean the candle has gone bad—and it’s still perfectly fine to burn.

Once the candle returns to a cooler environment, the sweating may lessen or disappear. If a little oil remains on the surface, it can simply be gently blotted away before lighting.

Hand-poured candles are a little like us: sometimes they get hot, sometimes they sweat, and sometimes they just need some AC.

Sorry Banana Fam, most of my products would not be able to handle the rain.... Working on better packaging though! We'll be at next week's market full of new smells you're sure to "Fall" in love with.... 😉

We're keeping delicate items dry! Crafter Corner will be next Saturday.

I have to take a moment to do a shout out…. I only use a couple of suppliers since I keep my products toxin-free. Hive and Honey Candle Supply is one of them. Their fragrance oils perform beautifully and I can use them without any fear. They had a sale at the end of July, and at the end of last week I received this email. Customer Service is something that goes beyond simply saying saying “Thank you” for a sale… in my opinion, it’s about being open and honest as well. This email really impressed me and I am so happy that I use their products. Great Job!!!!!

The Fall roll out is this Saturday but Fall is a little early at Red Hive Market! I’m not going to let you know what the scents are just yet! If you want to know, you’ll have to head on over there and smell them yourself…. 😆 stay tuned for where else Fall may land a little early for Ana Banana Co!
