PONGO HAD A GOOD REPORT TODAY! PRAISE GOD! 🙌🐴💙
We are so encouraged by the wonderful progress Pongo continues to make! Every step forward is a testimony of God’s goodness, healing, and faithfulness. We are incredibly grateful for Whisper with Stable Hands Pet Care and for the patience, love, and dedication she gives Pongo.

Here is Whisper’s full report from today:

“Pongo did very well today! I totally thought he had been secured in his stall as he was waiting for me while I gathered his tack and came up with our game plan keeping in mind today’s heat. When Mike came to drop off the thrush buster and roll on fly repellent he let me know that he could go out today and that he was actually out already! I had him come into the paddock area. He did so without any Tack and then proceeded to have a really good hose off and groom, and he let me wet him all the way to the top of his poll on his neck, both sides without too much hesitation. This is huge progress for him! After I did his feet and his stretches, and we headed out with the intent to only do a few walk/trot transitions. Pongo was apparently feeling great after his hose off and went all the way out on the line offering a beautiful trot. He listened very well doing his transitions, so I’m started the other direction and he went out and offered a beautiful canter with a few bucks, but I think they were all feel good bucks as he stayed controlled and listened to transition cues. I signaled to come in and he got his head scratches and mouth release. I took off all his tack and headed into the barn and just for fun picked up a little jog and he playfully trotted right behind me! I rewarded him with an apple in his feed bin and some head scratches! I’ll see him next week!”

Look at God! Pongo is growing stronger, more confident, more trusting, and more joyful with every session. We give the Lord all the glory for this beautiful report and for placing such loving people around Pongo to help him continue healing and thriving!

We give Father God all the glory for the beautiful progress Pongo continues to make. It brings us so much joy to watch the Lord restore his trust, build his confidence, and reveal more of his sweet personality with every training session! Here are today’s notes from Whisper at Stable Hands Pet Care and Services:

Whisper with Stable Hands Pet Care and Services:
"Pongo chose to come out of his stall and join me while I was getting his things ready. He was very playfully mouthy today. He wanted his head massage and poll release which is normally his reward for job well done.

We did some liberty work in the paddock at the end of the barn and he enjoyed that! I wanted to still get him moving so he hesitantly allowed tack and wanted more liberty work and to stay right with me even in the pasture. I gave him some scratches and love and sent him out on the line. We did walk trot transitions again and took several practices to get him listening going left but once we got clear praise for listening I called him in and he was much more focused going right. He came in for his well deserved head massage once I removed all tack. He surprised me again and followed closely all the way back into his stall with me!! Go Pongo! I’ll see him next week!" - Whisper

❤ 🐴 Pongo had another wonderful training session with Whisper from Stable Hands Pet Care on Friday! One of the sweetest moments happened before the session even began. Although Pongo was free to roam, he chose to walk over to Whisper and begin working with her. What a beautiful sign of the trust they are building together!

Whisper gave him a quick grooming, treated his feet, and protected his legs from those pesky bugs. Pongo was initially hesitant when he saw the ba****ck pad, but after taking a moment to process everything, he bravely allowed Whisper to place and secure it. He then listened beautifully to her transition cues and moved so well!

We are incredibly proud of his progress. Every session is another step forward in his journey of trust, confidence, healing, and purpose. We thank the Lord for placing Whisper in Pongo’s life and for the beautiful progress he continues to make with her guidance and loving care.

Keep going, Pongo! God is not finished writing your story!

❤ 🐴 Pongo and his donkey friends, Nahbi and Palti, had the sweetest visit with some wonderful local friends who love his book! They were showered with hugs, kisses, scratches—and plenty of treats! Of course, Pongo was especially excited about his favorite peppermints!

These special moments remind us of just how faithful the Lord is. Pongo’s story began with rejection, but God had already written a beautiful story of rescue, healing, love, and purpose for his life. Now he is sharing that hope with everyone he meets!

🐴💦 A Great Day at the Barn with Pongo! 🍎🐴
Pongo had a wonderful training session this morning with his trainer, Whisper from Stable Hands Pet Care! He worked hard in the field, practiced his groundwork, and finished the morning with a nice, refreshing bath to cool down.

It brings us so much joy to see how far Pongo has come! As a rescue horse, he has grown tremendously in his confidence, trust, and connection with others. Every step forward is a beautiful reminder of what patience, love, and faithful care can do.

We believe Father God has wonderful plans for Pongo! He was not only rescued to restore his own life—soon he will be trained as a rescue therapy horse so that one day he can help bring comfort, hope, and healing to others. What a beautiful picture of God’s redemption: the one who was rescued becoming a blessing to others!

We are so proud of you, Pongo, and we are excited to watch God’s good plans for your life continue to unfold!

🍎🐴 Another good report for Pongo! We are so thankful to the Lord for his continued progress and for the loving, patient care he receives from Whisper each week. Take a look at how well he did today!

Whisper with Stable Hands Pet Care and Services:
Pongo boy did awesome today!!! I was very excited to have some manageable temps to work him in. I said hi to Mike at the barn and then headed out to get Pongo. He came in and we did a quick groom and foot treatment along with his tucks and lifts to warm him up for work. We went out to the left first which is his harder direction. He gave me some inconsistent trots and so I turned him to go right. He was much more consistent and we did walk trot canter transitions today and he was wonderful. I am still providing lots of encouragement to pick up the canter but he picked up the correct lead! I brought him in for some praise and head scratches and then we tried going left again. He did a little better this time and we also worked walk trot canter transition. We walked out in the shade for cool down and then I got him to follow me to his stall without halter so he could get his treat for being a good boy! See him next week!

🐴💙 Another good report for Pongo today! One day and one step at a time, Pongo continues to remind us that God can take what was once rejected and bring forth a beautiful story of rescue, healing, and new beginnings.

Here's today's update from Whisper with Stable Hands Pet Care and Services:
"Pongo and I had a good session! He did tell me he wants more grass by nipping at the back of my leg while treating his feet and trying to graze when we went to work lol. I let him know nipping was not ok and he listened to a stern no when I was treating his right front. He did well on the line today. He had a consistent gait so the tucks and stretches really do seem to do the trick. He did need a lot more encouragement to stay going today. I hosed him off and returned him to his stall. See him next week!" ~ Whisper

"Pongo was waiting for me again, I love it! I brought him in through his stall door into the barn as we continue to work on desensitization. We did a quick groom and I treated all 4 feet and then we did his tucks and stretches. They do make a big difference as he started out going left at a pretty even pace. He did much better going right so then I asked him to go left again. He showed improvement that was asking to be done. At the end, he was very eager to come in and get his head scratches and mouth release. He was a very good boy today! I will see him next week!"

🍎GOOD REPORTS FOR OUR RESCUE HORSE PONGO TODAY!!
Whisper with Stable Hands Pet Care and Services:
Pongo was waiting for me! He was a very good boy! Due to high heat I opted to use the new conditioner. I first hosed him off as he was pretty sweaty and then I worked on Desensitization around the top of his neck and ears while i shampooed his mane and conditioned it and got it all detangled and beautifully brushed out. I went to get the fly spray from the barn and he followed me into the barn without being asked!! Huge progress for him! It could have been to get out of the sun as well but very Happy with how far he has come! I treated the bald part of his main with aloe heal and will see him next week.
