World Ocean Day, observed each year on June 8, is a reminder to celebrate our oceans, protect marine life, and support the sustainable use of the resources our planet depends on. The idea began at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 and was officially recognized by the United Nations in 2008.
Healthy oceans mean healthier ecosystems, cleaner air, stronger coastal communities, and a better future for generations to come.
This June 8, consider one small action: reduce plastic use, participate in a cleanup, support conservation efforts, or simply spend time appreciating the waters that sustain so much life. Every action matters.

First Week of June Garden Checklist
June is here, and your garden is shifting into summer mode! Now is the time to:
• Plant heat-loving crops like tomatoes, peppers, basil, and squash
😍 DO NOT forget Coastal Castings in your soil mix!
• Add organic mulch to help hold moisture, keep roots cooler, and reduce weeds
• Pinch back young herbs and annuals for fuller, bushier growth
• Put in cages, stakes, and trellises before plants and vines get too heavy
• Water deeply to encourage stronger roots and healthier plants
A little work now can mean bigger harvests, healthier plants, and less garden stress when the summer heat arrives.
