Our guitarmaking textbook, first written and published in 1985 and in continuous print until last year, deserved a top-to-bottom makeover, to reflect the many changes and improvement not only to our technique but significantly, to the changes in the guitarmaking universe in forty (forty!!) years. Artisanal guitarmaking was an obscure, far-from-the-mainstream profession when we first wrote GT&T. Now every state in the union boasts at least several fine, full-time luthiers.
Well, Jon and I, after 13 years of dedicated effort, have produced a new, revised edition of the old treatise, suitable for the current age--and in full color! The new, revised manuscript has gone to the designer and a new print edition--and an online companion--should come off the presses by year's end!
