Hello friends! This is John Lee, the owner of Fantasy Escape Cards and Comics. The name changed from Fantasy Escape Comics and Cards for tax reasons, but still the same ol' store. Fantasy Escape has been around for a long time, 17+ years when my mom and dad opened it in the location it is in now. Comics were my dad's passion for as long as I can remember and got me into it as well. My mom wasn't into the comics as much as the cards, so that was her thing at the store and they did well for a long time until my dad passed on August 19, 2020. The passing of my dad and mom's cancer hit her hard during that time and passed away the following month September 19, 2020. My dad originally wanted to sell the store because of his failing health but agreed to me keeping it going. COVID hit shortly after and foot traffic dropped dramatically and it's been a struggle to keep going ever since. Sadly, the current economic status of our nation has hit us pretty hard as well and made it even harder to sustain business. I have to pause because it saddens me to bring up our current news...we will be closing the doors at this address on September 19th on my mom's anniversary of her passing. The following week will be open until September 16 to allow for packing and finalizing the close...however, not entirely closing Fantasy Escape Cards and Comics, just the location. I will be moving stock to our soon-to-be-revised online store and hopefully soon after a new location in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Finding a location is proving to be difficult. Colorado Springs, Colorado is home for me and my family.
What this means is that our current customers will still be able to purchase products and still be subscribers. The difference is that the product will be shipped to your home instead of you making time to drive to the store. You'll no longer have to worry about traffic, gas, or time before and in between.
That also means that our card players will lose a place to go to. That's the worse part of it all and I do apologize. I do hope to resume that at the new location.
This is the only way to keep my parent's legacy going right now as prices are high.
Finally, I want to thank all of our loyal customers who continuously walk through that door at 309 Aragona Blvd. I have met some of you in passing and I hope you all continue to be our customers. I will post updates to the FB page with links for those interested as I get them.
In the meantime, come see Andrew at the store. Keep posted on our FB page for new sales until September 16th. Thank you for your understanding and I hope to see some of you continue your subscriptions.
