Our Lavender House Community Kitchen is a woman-owned small business located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We manufacture a line of food products created from our herb garden. If we have not grown the herbs, fruits and vegetables ourselves, we have obtained them from our local farmers. We support “Buy fresh, Buy local”! In addition, Lavender House Community Kitchen offers farmers, caterers & processors and regular people an inexpensive place to create value-added food products. We provide hourly access to a commercial kitchen & food preparation area to prepare food for personal use, retail sales, or catering purposes. This kitchen is certified/inspected by VDACS and the Virginia Beach Health Department. Applicants for kitchen use must have an orientation meeting and fill out an information packet at least one week prior to using the facility. Currently, the hours of operation for the community kitchen are
Tuesday from 12:00 noon – 5:00 p.m. Wednesday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. However in the near future, the schedule may include evening hours by special arrangement. Our kitchen facility has 1,250 square feet of working area. The space includes three kitchens and a classroom measuring approximately 13” x 23”. Suggested maximum # of workers in the small kitchens = 2-3. Suggested maximum # of workers in the large kitchen = 4-6. The kitchen contains:
- a LANG half-pan commercial convection baking oven
- microwave
- 4 – 6 induction burners *
- 1 refrigerator & 1 chest-style freezer
- 3-compartment sink & hand washing sink
- storage shelving; cart for loading/unloading

* The induction burners require special pots & pans. If you do not have these you will be required to rent them from Lavender House. FEES per hourly use:
Caterer = $35.00
Processor/normal person = $30.00
Charity organization (501.c3), Military = $25.00
Classroom = $35.00
Additional fees are listed in the fee schedule in the information packet. Parus has both the “Acidified Foods” certification and the “Professional Food Service Manager” certification for food service safety and sanitation.

Our jelly assortment includes, but is not limited to: Cranberry Basil, Cranberry Jalapeño, Dill Garlic Vinegar, Glorious Garlic, Hot Pineapple, Lavender Grape, Mint, Rose Geranium, Rosemary Orange, Rosemary Pineapple, Strawberry Cinnamon Basil, Tarragon Lime, Wild Berry Basil, and Tomato Basil Jam.

Our vinegar assortment includes, but is not limited to: Cranberry Herbal Garlic, Dill Garlic, Garlic Lovers, Hot Pepper, HOT HOT HOT Pepper, Lavender Balsamic, Merry Mint, Savory and Tarragon.

Our assortment of herbal blends includes, but is not limited to: Herb Butter, Italian Dipping Oil, Herbes de Provence, Lavender, Dilly Delicious, Boursin, Mediterranean, and Savory. Our herbal salts currently include Mediterranean Salt and Citrus Salt.

Hello everyone. We are busy little beavers at Lavender House, preparing lots of herbal jellies, vinegars, blends, and chutneys to have ready for the Old Beach Farmers Market at Croc's Restaurant, this coming Saturday Nov. 21. We are a featured business at the market this week and we are really excited about it. Come by and visit us if you are in the area....it runs from 9 am to 12 noon.

Our holiday special--buy one vinegar, one herb blend, and one jelly, receive a discount and gift bag with coordinating tissue paper!
