I wanted to make this post a few weeks ago, but the time has gotten away from me! As it does.
On our latest visit up to NY this summer, I was able to FINALLY get my hands on some AUTHENTIC Maltese Pastizzi!
The word spread on Facebook that Long Island has their first very own Pastizzi specialists, and I had to see for myself!
Being raised in a Maltese/Italian household, my tastebuds are very… particular to authenticity, if you will.
My grandfather would make the BEST MOST savory STEW with a solid dough. my uncle made the FLAKIEST dough. Both made them different but so delicious.
I have to say these Pastizzi from Zizzis Pastizzi are FANTASTIC!!
Ricotta Pastizzi. Excellent.
Meat and peas Pastizzi. Chefs KISS
