Ewetopia is a family owned local yarn shop, hand dyed yarn line and knitwear company that strives to produce the ultimate inspirational experience for you the fiber lover! We had such a fun time welcoming Darn Knit Anyway knitters to the mill (and our Viroqua shop!)

We love connecting with knitters to show what goes into the yarn that they enjoy! It’s amazing to think of how much work goes into that finished garment, from sheep to sweater!

The American Sheep Industry just wrapped up their first Small and Mid-size Mill Conference in Sheridan, WY! I (Kathryn) was so excited to be one of the selected mills to attend, and I’m so glad to have taken off this week to travel there and collaborate, learn and be inspired by other mill owners and sheep industry professionals.

Besides cramming our heads with important business information and networking, we also toured Mountain Meadow Wool Mill which was exciting to see (especially their scouring train/wool washing system), and a local county fair with a big focus on wool, including a Make It With Wool lead line class (the Rambouillet ewe and her costumed comrade were my favorite 😊)

Personally, I don’t get away from the mill very often, and it has been so great to have my 3 daughters with me, we have even found time to do some hiking and exploring! I am excited to get home though and back to spinning! Mountain Meadow Wool American Sheep Industry

It was a very dark and early morning when I (Kathryn) rolled into Bollman Scouring (now owned by Crescent) in San Angelo, Texas at 5:15am! I unloaded the wool and came back to the hotel for a brief “real” vacation experience poolside before we head back to pick up the washed, dried and baled wool and head home!

The next trip will be to bring the baled wool to Crescent Woolen Mill in Two Rivers, WI to have more Folk yarn spun!
