None of us would be here without our mothers, and Mother’s Day is the perfect time to slow down and show a little extra gratitude.

It’s a beautiful time to be in the Driftless.

The mini heat wave has passed, and we’re back to normal — even a little chilly — spring conditions. Creeks are pretty clear, water temps are holding in the mid-50s, and bankside vegetation is still low.

The morning bite is still best with nymphs, then afternoons have been giving us some dry fly opportunities when fish start rising. Caddis are the main menu right now, especially tan caddis, with craneflies in the mix too.

We have all the flies you need for the season.
